Slade were told to be skins by the record company,Noddy has has said he wasn't entirely happy with the image,in those days like these days,the music industry is run by criminal organisations.

They were worried about getting their c*nts kicked in by real skins who saw through their fakeness.

I know they endeared themselves to the youths in the UK during the glam era, but they ended up looking like such clowns!  The music spoke for itself, especially Noddy's voice.  This early look would've been fine with me had they kept it.
