I had just returned from living in Scotland for a year when I heard this. Took me right back to one of the best years of my life. That fiddle, reminiscent of bagpipes, and oh, the drums!! Went out and bought the album the next day Thank You!!

Only trouble with this magnificent song is that its largeness cannot be reproduced live with only the instruments and players you see here, and without many more vocalists.

You just have to love a song everyone can sing along with during a concert...this ranks right up there with We Will Rock You by Queen for songs the fans scream out during the band's adrenaline-fueled concerts. They got this one right...just inane lyrics but great fun to sing along to.

Love Slade! Saw them back in the 70's multiple times. Once they were the warm up band for Pavlov's Dog, a band hailing from the St. Louis area. Slade played. Then Pavlov's Dog came on and they were boo'ed off the stage and Slade came back on and Noddy and the boys tore the house down! Not a person was in their seat! It was amazing!

Out of the blue, this song becomes a big hit.

This '84 album was made possible, when they sold song rights of a few songs in their past catalog to Quiet Riot, for their '83 album (Cum on Feel the Noize, & Mamma We're All Crazy Now). They were always known as comical, but had solid music.

They didn't sell the rights. Quiet riot covered the songs. Jim Lea and Noddy Holder got a shit load of money from royalties

@jayt575au , I remember the interview from back in the day, where Noddy said, selling the "rights" to Quiet Riot made their '84 album possible.

No matter what, they got much needed funds to make a comeback album.
