Slade - I Remember Lyrics
Coming up fast on a different line I was early for once
Stop so I looked all around at the chance and I was early for once
Won't take long to get out of this place
Got to take a chance decide my own fate
I'm sadly alone and when I'm all on my own my baby gets to moan
She can't recess me for my name and address
I stumbled for thought at it's simple request
I remember it
I take a long deep look at the things that I took but it still isn't clear
[Break]
My kid said hello and I didn't reply you see my memory was gone
Won't take long to get out of this place
Got to take a chance decide my own fate
I remember it
I take a long deep look at the things that I took but it still isn't clear

Ohhhh that bass run in the gap at 2.24 ...it's enough to give you an orgasm!
F*** me! So intense. Punk rock.
what a great it was!
I was 8 when this album came out and missed hearing it then. I went on to become a Slade fan (like everyone my age in the UK) in the glam years. Hearing it now for the first time from my perspective nearly 50 years later, it blows me away and I'm going to buy the first copy I see. I still love the Glam Slade for the teenage nostalgia but sold all my albums decades ago and have never considered Slade a serious band since I grew up. Little did I know they were a serious band before they made it big. This has to be one of the most seminal rock albums of its time that no one knows about. It also explains why Slade literally owned Glam Rock, because they were real great songwriters and musicians first, and not just showmen like so many similar acts of the time. You have to wonder what Slade would have become if their first 2 albums had charted, maybe they'd have been Zepplin and Zepplin would have had to be Slade!
Joe Salaman forget Zepplin Slade was a very much different band
Nice one! My favourite Slade disc. Never charted?! Oh man. Killer LP.
thank you so much for these Slade posts Danny. the pops and crackles make me smile.
