Slade - How D'You Ride Lyrics

Listen now
A don't you know I got a rock hard reputaion
I gotta try a lot of new things today
And I've got, got, got a lot of things I'm not
Listen now to what I say
A don't you know I tried to turn my fast car over
I don't remember never wheelers get in a while *
And he'd got, got, got a lot of what was hot
All that I could do was sit and smile

How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh yeh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh, oh, oh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh yeh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh yeh
Oh yeh

A can't you see we're gonna need no revolution
A just to get the good time messes today
Cos we got, got, got a life an that's the plot
The way that we could not have played

How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh yeh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh, oh, oh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh yeh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh yeh
Oh yeh

A don't you know I got a rock hard reputaion
I gotta try a lot of new things today
And I've got, got, got a lot of things I'm not
Listen now to what I say

How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh yeh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh, oh, oh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh yeh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you an' me hide, Oh, oh, oh, oh
How d'you ride, how d'you ride, hey, hey listen now, listen
How d'you ride, how d'you ride....

Fantastic upbeat song from a ridiculously underrated band. No band could has more catchy rock tunes in the history of rock than the mighty Slade

  31. b.... e....

Surely the world leaders should be getting together and figuring out how science can preserve Noddys vocal cords for posterity?
Im going to table a motion at the next G summit with this in mind. Trump,May,Putin, surely with the power at your disposal you can get the knowledge and industry of China and Korea to all pull together an save this for future mankind?
    Noddy isn't getting any younger.

    i.... ....

Yeah me too, But it wont happen, But hey, what a great band we can call upon.

  44. r.... h....

Its good to be back , after all these years. Slade !! still awesome.

  45. G.... R....

actually does any band engender as many happy memories and fun  good times  and people having there eyes opened to the fact that they were a great band that wrote great songs and sold millions and millions of them  as the facebook site says slade are for life not just for christmas still love them still make you feel great if your having a bad day

  46. S.... R....

This album is solid, timeless and is testimony to this bands ability to write/play great songs and how to ROCK.
EXCELLENT tracks on it like: "How D'You Ride", "Look at Last Nite", "I Won't Let It 'Appen Agen", "Gudbuy Gudbuy", "I Don't Mind".
Their cover of a Janis Joplin tune "Move Over" is truly awesome and like most of the covers they did (like for example on "Slade Alive!"), they really make it (them) their own.
The album finishes on a high with one other cover, a great rock & roller "Let the Good Times Roll/Feel So Fine", it`s powerful (superb bass lines, as ALWAYS!) and yet maintains a good time/rock & roll vibe, but `heavied` up.
Ironically, for me anyway, the weakest track is one of the singles "Gudbye T'Jane"... that`s not to say it`s a bad track as such - I think at one time it was just heard too much!
Bonus tracks on the 2006 remastered version are indeed BONUS tracks! (with maybe the exception of "Slade Talk To Melanie Readers"! which is short samples of a few tracks with the band sending wishes to readers of said magazine inbetween); the tracks are `b` sides from earlier singles, they again show the bands versatility. The tracks are:
    11. "My Life Is Natural"
    12. "Candidate"
    13. "Wonderin' Y"
    14. "Man Who Speeks Evil"
    15. "Slade Talk To Melanie Readers"
If you want to hear some good, honest Rock music that is played well, is loud and gives out good `vibes` etc, then I would definitely recommend this album... truly.
P.S: The remastered version is very well done by Tim Turan and brings out the best of what was already a great recording.

    S.... R....

this is 1 of fav albums, not a bad song on it

    S.... R....

Seriously ? Clearly you haven't studied music very much then. As much as I enjoy Slade I know enough about music to be well aware that Slade were nothing more than entry level rock at best and a notch above The Glitter Band at worst. They were quite simply nowhere NEAR the true greats such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Free, The Moody Blues, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Cream, Alex Harvey Band, Deep Purple, Yes, Genesis, Fleetwood Mac, Robin Trower, Supertramp, Rory Gallagher, The Who, The Doobie Brothers and The Eagles to name but a few. Even UFO, Scorpions and Nazareth were far superior. You think I'm wrong ?

    S.... R....

@William Wallace what an idiot you obviously know nothing about classic rock knobhead

    S.... R....

    Spot on ,

  47. r.... ....

Gosh, I remember when my brother bought the album in the 70's. Great memories...

  48. R.... I....

One of my favourite riffs of all time .....

  49. P.... B....

    Zaj.... nawet po latach.

  50. L.... C....

After reading everyones coments i had to put pen to paper. I was around when this was out. I worked for local car plant and drank down in working mans pub drinking real ales and seing all the bands of the 70s. And suporting  millwall  and rest is history

  51. P.... C....

Now, Ronzoni - what's all this about "the swill that the blacks provide"?  Hey, us white folks provide just as much swill - even more.  And Slade (and a lot more of your favorite white rock'n'roll bands) have been influenced by and covered a lot of great black music.

    P.... C....

Not all black's provide swill, I like Hendrix, its the so called "Rap" and "Hip Hop" garbage that is flooded on the airwaves.

  52. R.... ....

    8,000 views and no dislikes.

    Humanity is restored.

  53. r.... ....

SLADE! At least you can understand the lyrics, not like the Rap $hit and Hip Hop crap on the air ways today. I feel bad that the teenagers do not understand that they listen to the swill that the blacks provide and they call music.

    r.... ....

Been a massive slade fan since I was a kid. And have to agree this is there best album. Got to see slade 2 a few years ago. They were good but not the same without noddy !!!

  54. C.... d....

The beste ever all the tiimes e foda-se se eu escrevi errado essa porra! SLADE ARE SALDE AND SLADE ARE NOW!

  55. L.... A....

mi primer contacto con el rock a los 12 años!

  56. I.... ....

    This is a masterpiece indeed!

  57. R.... T....

    vinyl stay's the best

  58. h.... ....

love that you can hear th scrathes in the lp it is taking me way back :-)

  59. 8.... ....

First album I ever bought and i still got it.The greatest rock band ever, in my humble opinion. Luv U Slade.

  60. A.... ....
