Skyharbor - Idle Minds Lyrics

You rose above, transcended all
Now I suffer and take the fall
I gave you all that love could give
But karma called

Scrub up, operate on this blood red stone
Here we go

I try not complicate but this is not a celebration now
No, I'm moving on

You rose above, transcended all
Now I suffer and take the fall
I gave you all that love could give
But karma called

Who, who are you, if I can be so bold?
Oh, did you let it slip to the ones who came before?
We live in an isolated, unforgiving world

Oh, everyone deserves to be
Righteous, free and satisfied
Oh, everyone deserves to be
Righteous, free and satisfied

If I can do it myself, then you can do it yourself
If I can do it myself, then you can do it yourself
If I can do it myself, then you can do it yourself

Oh, every time I fly away
I leave my body behind

Asphyxiated on this cold hard floor
You are the ivy and you take control
Please let me go, release me from your stronghold

I see the consequence of open doors
I get the sense that I've been here before
I see the consequence of open doors
This honest lust has made me want you more

Here stands my guilt intent
Pretending to let go
Here for the final time
Statue of a broken line
Pretending to let go
Here for the final time

You are the ivy that suffocates
These crooked limbs, these rusting walls
Idle minds forget the past
Idle minds are doomed to pass

Don't be afraid, be victorious
This sudden urge for a needless thought
Close the door, the night is ours
The need for change is in us all

Don't be afraid

such a great band to relax

  3. V.... M....

Love this song, reminds me of DGD.

  4. H.... ....

Discovered SkyHarbor too late and missed their US tour last year. I wish I had known then! Great work from all involved!

  5. S.... T....

Love all Daniels Tompkins stuff but also loving Eric emery vocals to. Both awesome guys✌ this album is out of this world.👍

  6. N.... B....

It has been about 3 years since I first heard Skyharbor, and this song still blows my mind. The djent, the groove, the emotional lyrics, all of it just makes the absolutely brilliant sound that is Skyharbor.

  7. f.... A....

This album is amazing it takes you on an emotional rollercoaster an experience that I'm very grateful I have taken. the skill level of playing is mind blowing and I think the mix and mastering of this album is brilliant

  8. B.... ....

I wish they never parted ways with dan..

  9. .... ....

    this is so good ..

  10. C.... H....

I can't name another song that took and still takes me onto such an emotional level where I can simply close my eyes and fully let myself float in such an undescribable atmosphere, not to mention that the song guiding lights is close to deliver me the same feeling.

  11. T.... A....

What kinda music is this? thanks.

    T.... A....

Tina Angel progressive metal/progressive rock/ambient music

    T.... A....

Like Ethan said but I would add Djent as a subgenre of the metallic ambient sounds as well.

  12. M.... ....

Anything Produced and Mixed by Forrester Savell is gold.

  13. D.... P....

By far the greatest band to ever come up on a Google Play Radio, and the band that got me into the progressive metal genre. After being a basic metal fan for so long, I can never go back.

    D.... P....

Glad you dig it dude - we love this album too :)

  14. T.... W....

When Daniel Thompson left the band and then Eric came on board They just evolve into this cosmic Indy rock and I like it.

    T.... W....

    It's tompkins..

  15. C.... M....

UGh I love that panning at the beginning. If you close your eyes with a good pair of headphones on it sounds like your being sucked in, like the sound is encircling you. So dope, very well done. Glad i randomly heard someone mention these guys on Facebook

  16. C.... F....

I find that this hits some sort of nerve. This song must have something for everyone except for the most grizzly black metal fan. Is this as good as music gets?

    C.... F....

+Boh Gro I think it sets a new standard in what music can achieve. I've been wearing out the CD in my car for a few months now, plus I constantly listen on YT... can't seem to get enough of this music... Also check out Plini if you haven't already.

  17. D.... ....

2:55-4:00  mmmmmm those low bass notes are so gloriously deep

  18. Y.... ....

    that intro!! DAMN!!!!!!

  19. M.... ....

First it was Evolution, then Halogen, then Guiding Lights, then The Constant, and now this. I love the whole album but I've always had certain songs played on repeat before I move on to a new favorite track off the record. It's incredible that this album still doesn't cease to amaze me. Makes me a proud pledger for this album. Love Skyharbor and stoked to be seeing them in December!

    M.... ....

+Manas Sharma the samee happened to me man!!!! this song......... damn!!! so fucking good!!!!!!!

  20. M.... F....

I cannot get enough of this band. Every song is beautifully amazing. So well rounded. Give me more! Why is there no drum play through of this song? It's so fun to play and Anup Sastry is so skilled I wanna see it played by someone other than myself hahahaha.

    M.... F....

Matthew Force This is not Anup Sastry. It's their new drummer.

  21. T.... G....

    best.random.click.ever...

    T.... G....

    Absolutely

    T.... G....

    Good move sir, good move.

  22. C.... ....

"I see the consequence of open doors" is such a badass line.

  23. N.... I....

I love this band, I love this album! New obsession! <3

  24. C.... M....

    Don't be afraid ... <3

  25. e.... ....

2:12 - 2:49 should have been a song in itself, so good

  26. P.... ....

Taking "progressive" to a new level. Amazing song, amazing album.

  27. I.... ....

The more I listen to this, the more it sounds like a Kaddisfly song. I approve.

  28. S.... E....

Quickly becoming my favourite song from the album. Just amazing, well written, brilliant vocal dynamics.

  29. B.... P....

    Exelent vocals !

  30. F.... M....

I was trying to hold out till i got the album but i broke down

  31. C.... ....

I came for the 0's and the djent, but all I got was a random pop punk section that made me question my entire life.

    C.... ....

+CincoDrums First listen I thought someone had swapped in a Coheed and Cambria song at 1:35

    C.... ....

Hhahahahahhaha this song has a pop punk vibe indeed, at 1:35 you can hear it. Skyharbor's djent/prog, though.

    C.... ....

if you like this song, go check out the band Kaddisfly. Many of their songs have a feel like this one.

    C.... ....

Check out Born of Osiris, it's all 0's

    C.... ....

Cesar Fonseca Esses n00bs são fodas hahahaha

  32. S.... K....

my favorite song from the album! skyharbor is awesome! :)
