Exactly! I'm a guy and I watched it when I was in Secondary School.
At first, I wasn't interested. But after this movie was aired on TV, I fell in love with the song "This Is Me", so I bought the DVD.
I got to know the other songs from the movie and Skye Sweetnam (Barbie's singing voice) who has been one of my favorite singers.

This movie also led me to find that my favorite kind of music was Pop Rock.
After getting to know Skye Sweetnam, I listen to other pop rock (mostly female) singers like Avril Lavigne, Ashlee Simpson, Fefe Dobson, Katy Rose and many more. 🎧🎤🎸

I only bought Barbie diaries in the past couple of years, but my sister had the doll for the movie that came with the amp and guitar and stuff. We used to sing that little snippet all the time. I had no idea Skye sweetnam sang all these songs lol
