Skinny Puppy - Chainsaw Lyrics

Forlorn lists true contempt destruct dripping
Red is it time to come clean wash away
Everything hold the frame still life focus
Ones intent to not be noticed lost in lies
Graceful charms losing touch with everyone
Management terms and conditions waiting for
Own in addition contract is raised
The worlds greatest mortuary self destruct
Mechanism introvert overturn assasination
Make from steel the ugly weapon killers
Instinct from man to trigger peaceful time
Direct potentia living through ones own
Dimentia come on hold arms dissect division
Caress duress invite delusion back moving
Through the keyhole trust in keeping a value
Judgement overthrown like a somnambulist
Twisting and churning in retrospect management
Inedible benign applicants crime to everlasting eternal peace

  15. S.... G....

Wasnt Sisters of Mercy already doing this, like 15-20 years before?

    S.... G....

Never did I hear The Sisters refer to chainsawing in this fashion. Well, uhm... There isn't enough room on the internet for my rant. And definitely not enough wine in my refrigerator.

    S.... G....

But of course, there were razors. So you may be right after all. I can't say for sure because my perception of time is fucked. That is because I don't care. Life - Des'ree, have a listen. :p

    S.... G....

Sisters of mercy weren't industrial. they were good in there own right but not alike.

  16. C.... J....

    The 80s! the best decade!.

  18. S.... H....

Nitzer Ebb my Phone only knows English

  19. S.... H....

Don't forget Throbbing Gristle and Neither Ebb I think they were some of the first to experiment in this style of music

    S.... H....

TG flat out created the genre, hands down.

    S.... H....

Throbbing Gristle yes, Nitzer Ebb came later along with Skinny Puppy in the early 80's. Cabaret Voltaire would be more suitable here.

  20. S.... H....

Don't forget Throbbing Gristle and Neither Ebb I think they were some of the first to experiment in this style of music

  21. S.... H....

Skinny puppy is the best industrial band ever nothing has ever come close

    S.... H....

Steven Harvey I’d say alien sex fiend and kidney thieves would

    S.... H....

    @Jake Holland lol

    S.... H....

Jake Holland alien sex Fiend I agree and Throbbing Gristle lol! If I say SP is the best I’ll have TG behind my
Mind when I say it, love Alien good call 👍 people don’t appreciate Alien 👽 enough they have a lot of great material. Today I learned about Swan another industrial band but not distinctive, it’s meh.

    S.... H....

Ever heard of Throbbing Gristle ? They are pretty genius and created Industrial Music.

    S.... H....

    Hashtag Fucking Fact

  22. S.... H....

I must be sick in the head . The music the government tortures prisoners with I listen to on my free time lol I'm a sick puppy lol

    S.... H....

no. only means you're sane. others aren't ;-)

    S.... H....

    oh the irony...

    S.... H....

Steven Harvey Government actually plays it loudly enough to damage the ears. Also, the tracks used are remixed (badly!) to become harmful, instead of the soothing sound you hear in this song.

    S.... H....

Steven Harvey Not the only one. lol

  23. A.... ....

    hot pavaratti jams

  24. s.... ....

when this hit the club scene in san jose, CA ('one step beyond') ...was the diirtiest shit ever. until many years later in drug#6 in SF ......still a dirty track 2 this day. listen. comprehend. dance. enjoy.

  25. d.... ....

Amazing! So that one guy who says SP had no influences and were the first to do this kind of music, nice thought guy. But wrong. In the Northwest (albeit I was in the States and SP was in Canada. But Vancouver is just a hop away) I was listening to Kraft work in like 1973?'74? We were lucky in that a local FM radio station allowed their night time djs to play whatever they wanted. So I was introduced to a lot of killer music through Bob Church of KLAY in Tacoma. Kraftwerk + Alice Cooper + William Burroughs = Skinny Puppy! Everyone has influences. No one (nothing) is a blank slate.

    d.... ....

they do have influences, joy division and cabaret Voltaire for instance

  26. C.... G....

    Love it.

  27. C.... F....

What kind of synths/drum machines was cEvin Key using back in the days??

  28. q.... ....

Fuuuuuuck! These SP beats are so hard, Yo. This is totally dance music, we where all using these same samples and breaks in rap music back in the day too. Notice I say rap because in 1984 all rap music had at least 10min or so of pure instrumentation so people could dance. Ive even seen footage of Oghr break dancing to his own music at concerts!!!!!

    q.... ....

    you mean in this clip:
    https://youtu.be/9RLoP8hQ2_8?t=1m27s

  29. D.... T....

So happy I went to see them at the Studio 54, or what ever it was called back in the day NYC, for the Too Dark Park Tour, they almost broke up around that time so glad they where too tight for that shit..

    D.... T....

+Djoel Taveras would have loved to see them when last rights tour was around didn't get into them until cpl years after first song I heard and saw was spasmolytic video_ too dark park bought that album fist with the sleeve cd pamphlet of those dimensional monsters was hooked since

  30. d.... ....

Me, too, Albert!! I had some younger guy friends who made tapes for me of "this killer new band!" back in like '85, '86. I was hooked! Except my then boyfriend/partner couldn't listen to them for a while there. They felt too dark and sinister to him, and they'd give him the creeps. Pshaw! Some people never really got that punks and dark punks looked and sounded like they did not becuase they were dark, negative, evil people, but because they had an interior that was still worth protecting! (Well, along with a few other reasons...) So the intimidating exterior often kept those people at bay who were only capable of relating on an superficial exterior level. Because once you looked past the outside, you'd find a creative, caring, passionate human. And it is the same with the music. Skinny Puppy music often invoked the hideous side of human behaviors, systems and processes, but it did/does so in order to instigate change! So, it didn't surprise me to find here on Youtube, the interviews with SP members talking about their political and ethical commitments to human, animal, and earth well-being. These guys lived what they preached. No hypocrits here!

    d.... ....

    @darkmaitri
Mix Tapes! My god, I got handed one from my brother in 90 or so, SP, KMFDM, and some TKK, He didn't like them, he was a giant hair metal pussy at the time. One listening to Virus and I was hooked bad. There was a beautiful moment around 88-94 or so that was the beautiful birth of second wave industrial. I love to queue up long lists and just close my eyes and zone out, fly back there with my minds eye.

    d.... ....

    +darkmaitri Agreed.

  31. J.... K....

Skinny Puppy is the best antidote for those suffering from Christmas music. I highly recommend it.

    J.... K....

shitmass is for merca cunts anyways.

    J.... K....

we gonna need a ton of SP antidotes cuz shitmass gettin near

    J.... K....

    Funny its xmas right now

  32. M.... ....

Skinny Puppy fan since 1987!  45 yrs old now and still must blast my Skinny Puppy out my speakers, headphones, car!  Whatever it takes to get my dose of SP!  Too hard to kill the habit.  Even when I do the laundry, Cleanse, Fold, Manipulate manages to slime its way into the darkest crevices of my mind!  Soothing it is!

    M.... ....

fan of SP since 1984.  born in the 1960s but don't tell the year.  it's good you play SP in your car.  show those metal,  rap,  and country fans what good music truly is!

    M.... ....

+Albert Otero 1993 here im 36 so process was completed when I was jr in h.s. dedicating to there bassist d.r. goetell

  33. S.... ....

    baked out of his mind?

  34. A.... s....

i'm pretty sure your caucasian friend is also an idiot.

    A.... s....

You meet a lot of ignorance given the circumstances of America. You guys are digging your own grave lol. Indigenous people kept these lands in harmony but it’s okay. You have your fun ... lol mars cuz earth can’t handle your shitt

  35. o.... ....

They claim Portion Control as one of their influences. If you listen to really early PC, it does sound somewhat like the first few Puppy albums.

  36. p.... ....

Kraftwerk and Cabaret Voltaire from the 70s. Giorgio Moroder produced some outstanding techno dance hits in the 70s. Even Bowie and Eno did some of this in the 70s. But as Bernard Sumner says, "the synthesizer is the ultimate punk instrument."

  37. L.... ....

I love all the albums up to Last Rights and I have to say this one was my all around favorite, Rabies may be a rather not so close second, I just loved this one, from Dig It to Three Blind Mice to Maggot, I loved this one.

  38. M.... G....

Well then those chaps owe it to kraftwerk.. Hell let's just go with pink floyd for the originators of electronic experimentation, or that one guy before them who's name escapes me....

  39. N.... ....

One of my favorite old Skinny Puppy songs.

  40. N.... ....

One of my favorite old Skinny Puppy songs.

  41. k.... ....

You're not alone ^^ and as I say on an metal video 20 min ago, music has no colors !

  42. G.... D....

No matter how these guys are musically classified ( Genre Classed ) , they are in a class by themselves, because they have a multitude of followers, and I happen to be one of the many. Can someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they as a whole have any mentors, or anyone they pay homage to.

    They've set a trend.
They've been listed as an influence by many musical personalities.

In conclusion, it don't get any more EPIC than this !

  43. G.... D....

And the techno scene was given birth here in Detroit on radio station WGPR by the Electofying Mojo, which started about the spring of 1980 if memory serves me correctly.

Cybotron is from Belleville,Mi. → Model 500 → Juan Atkins, Derrick May, Claude Young... all from the Detroit Metro area. The DEMF was given birth here.

If Mojo would have never given them the airplay, probably no one would know of them today.

  44. G.... D....

Musically I've always been not only left, but right of centre.
    I will go left.
    I will go right.
I always find my way back to the Centre of my comfort zone.

I kinda follow the path that most don't wanna venture down musically.
It's a odd ball flaw I have, that I tend to embrace.

Skinny Puppy is one of those groups that I embrace.

  45. G.... D....

    thats funny

  46. G.... D....

Well alrighty then... Party of three it is ( lol )

  47. G.... D....

And by the way, other than the techno\house head I know ( ahemmm that happen to be black like myself ) don't really care to much for Puppy...weird right ?

But I march to my own drum ( even know how to play them and work a drum machine ).

The friend in question was playing me a compliment, and that friendship still exist today from 15 years ago, in actuality this month.

So I think there were \ are a few that read into this the wrong way

  48. G.... D....

At the time this came out, the radio market here as a whole in Metro Detroit was in the toilet ( and in reality still is as far as i'm concerned ) . One had to know the public radio stations in where to discover material of this kind.

I got lucky and got this groups material put in my ear on a loading dock in Mississauga, Ont back in 1985.

    Been following them ever since.

  49. d.... ....

Thanks for sharing this great fucking song!!!

  50. s.... ....

Cevins face in the middle looks like a young billy corrigan. Please make it stop.

  54. N.... ....

@Gene3875 If it makes you feel better my friend and I are pretty much the only dudes in our town who listen to this type of music. Together we can be party of 3.

  55. h.... ....

@NathanPaulPrince Dude, chillax, go to McD's, and order yourself a nice big extra-Valium meal. Your in YouTube, not the Matrix.

  56. K.... L....

@Gene3875 You are not the only one

  57. N.... P....

you have ALL been assimilated... school. work, paper with numbers on it that you run around buying things with because someone gave them to you for doing something... Assimilation

  58. E.... F....

    @Gene3875

That's funny because the industrial scene owes a HUGE debt to the oldschool Electro scene, which was almost 100% African American. Listen to Cybotron, Afrika Bambaata, Herbie Hancock etc, and you´ll find most of the more common tropes of industrial music. Just more funk and less distortion pedals ;)

  59. G.... D....

My Caucasian friend told me that I was probably the only "BLACK " person that he knows that listens to this kind of music... I glad to be in the party of one !

  60. d.... ....

bizzarelove triangle from new order ???

  61. A.... ....

  67. P.... W....

    @kassylion thanks for the suggestions.

  68. k.... ....

They are pioneers. Also worth checking out the dark sounds of acts like Cabaret Voltaire, NiNE, Coil, Front line Assembly, Wumpscut, KMFDM, AllFlaws

  69. M.... ....

wicked song and i love the picture.

  70. r.... r....

there'll never be music like this anymore, everything's so processed these days!

  73. M.... v....

I have been searching for a track from these guys. The only phrase that comes to mind is I have my kidneys,my spleen, me and my intestines. Do you know what the name of this track is?MvS..

  74. D.... N....

@RofloI3east Whatever moves you. No need to be a music racist.

  75. 3.... ....

No one did it like Skinny Puppy in the '80s. Finding a well attended club with a DJ spinning this is one of my ideas of paradise.

  76. m.... ....

This sounds a lot like Oomph!'s first album. If you like this then check them out too. They are a German band if you're not familiar with them. They were a huge influence on bands like Rammstein. They started making this same kind of music at the same time SP did. Check them out.

    Oomph! - Mein Herz

  77. j.... q....

@FistSaidToTheFace There's a 1988 version (cassette) and a 1984 (casette) version..the 1988 (cassette)version was easy to find..You never said anything about some esoteric bootleg version. Its very common for alot of bands to release "dry run verions" of an LP before the actual studio, record company version was out. OK...so you have the original Back and Forth cassette. what would you do with it? sell it for maybe like $60 or just listen to it???????????

  78. j.... q....

    @FistSaidToTheFace
    I may actually have one

  79. A.... ....

    Yes!!!!!!! SP rules!!

  80. m.... ....

  84. i.... b....

    mid eighties puppy for me.
    not this.

  85. s.... v....

    industrial metal thanks

  86. k.... ....

@fcukinlasttry It didn't happen like that. It wasn't so linear. In the early days (and I mean, I've heard recordings from Guy Debord - era Situationist stuff that's industrial) Original Industrial wasn't electronic. Metal most certainly didn't lead to Industrial. Nothing really leads linearly to anything else, with regard to music.

  87. T.... C....

the singer is pavi largo thumbs up if you know what i mean

  88. M.... G....

@TheOMGfactor it's on Mind : The Perpetual Intercourse . From the mid 80ies.

  89. f.... ....

Rock led to Metal, metal led to Industrial, then Thrash, Then,....fuck....wicked ride.

  93. k.... ....

@AntiMusick that's Aleister is it not on the shirt? Some style.

  94. k.... ....

  95. j.... c....

  96. A.... ....

i have that same shirt that Ogre is wearing in this photo (process era)

  97. C.... U....

    great for S&M

  98. M.... .....

@thiefelent It follows a pop music format. That is roughly intro/verse/chorus/verse/chorus/verse/bridge/chorus/outro, whiling having a singer. Punk is a form of pop music. Pop refers to structure then sound. As opposed to Classical, that goes in movements, or jazz, which can be totally unpredictable, or house/disco or minimal techno that has very long slowly evolving mixes.

  99. N.... O....

Skinny Puppy is post punk! 100% industrial!
