LOL Ever since I saw the poster for it at the theater (at maybe 5 or 6 years old) I was OBSESSED with it. I was, (what I thought was a "mature" movie fan (probably because I saw Whats Love Got to Do With It about 10 times by then) so when this came out and every adult was telling me "Oh YOU can't see THAT one!" it made me want to see it EVEN MORE! Every friday after grocery shopping I was allowed to rent 1 movie for the weekend and my mom usually wouldn't go in with me (being tired from the previous store.) I was terrified, but I plopped it down on the counter and rented it. That weekend I kept the VHS hidden behind anything I could until it came time to return it. Honestly, I think if anything I was bored by it. Even at 7, once you get about 15 minutes into this movie, you become pretty desensitized to all the nudity. And all the other sexual stuff was over my head at the time anyway. Years later, when I eventually worked at that video store I found out that our policy basically was "We're not censors. Unless there's a note on your account saying NO R Rated, etc. we're not going to stop your child from renting something. That's your job as a parent." ....so thats how I got to see that one! But hey, it inspired me to run an instagram page for it...so there's that I guess? (@showgirlsthemovie by the way lol)

Showgirls isn't THAT bad a movie. Ok a bit awkward & odd, but very interesting & quite poignant from beginning to end. love the song & the image of the girl saying "fuck off" to the whole shit

Had this song and Dizzy been included on their last album and 3 of their worst songs taken off it (O Baby, Tearing Apart, The Lonely One). The Rapture would've been a classic.
