Siouxsie And The Banshees - Lands End Lyrics

Come take this hand at twilight's door
I'll meet you there, we'll share the moonlit floor
Through the driving rain, colours run in veins
Ozone fills the air, two figures disappear

Come let's take flight, let's quit this scene tonight
Whilst they sleep on endless, in their wrecked designs
Sleep on endless in your wrecked designs

Moths touched by flame repeat their fatal game
Forever and eternally, the cliffs around the crashing sea
Unsolved and endless, wait for me

Undulating far below, where lucid waters flow
Their faces seem to know...

Where the land falls to an end
This hidden tale begins
Take a walk with me, down by the sea
Take a walk with me
Down by the sea

Spellbound. Israel. Dazzle. Dear Prudence. Cities in Dust. Happy House. About ten others. This is way down my list, but its still a cracking track.

  16. M.... ....

how gorgeous this poetic, epic track, a thrilling, haunting rollercoaster of a song, that ebbs & flows & jabs & stabs you up & down & siouxsie's suddenly fierce/ battlecry vocals zig-zag so casually, so seductively her chanting mantra resounds powerfully back & forth ... the banshees hypnotic, groovy darkness never more dazzling than this!

    M.... ....

MrDLOC11 Love the detailed description! Beautiful song!

    M.... ....

Could not have said it better:)

Tinderbox is my favorite by Siouxsie & the Banshees. The Killing Jar & Wheels on Fire could have been on it

    M.... ....

Yeah. It's her voice. It's so unlike any other voice.... so incredibly and exactly hers... if anyone else tried to sing lyrics like this they would just come across pretentious but not her.

  17. A.... T....

Beautiful Track. I heard this for the first time in 1992, sounds even more haunting today.

  18. k.... ....

This song has more hooks than a bag of hangers.

  23. S.... W....

To be honest, in my young-love-crushy-kissy days I thought Siouxie was trying to seduce Robert Smith or The Cure, so I was put off by her because I loved Robert, now I'm a little older and I don't really care. I got into The Banshees recently and fell in love with her, she's beautiful! Still all for Robert though. I'll always be a Cure Kid....

Thank you so very much this song is gorgeous!

    S.... W....

She and drummer Budgie were a couple during most of the 80s and married in 1991 and divorced in 2005

    S.... W....

Robert Smith stepped in to help them out when their guitarist quit suddenly on tour. The Cure were opening for the Banshees and he played a full set with the Cure then a full set with the Banshee's. His fingers must have been bleeding by the end of every night, but he is a guitar god so.....came back later and did an album with them after McGeough quit. He was in another band too...but that one is escaping me now. Some idiot in the 80s tried to tell me he was in the Smiths, I assume because of the last name. He was never in the Smiths. Ever.

+SoundsofDecay you have good taste, fireworks is my favourite and lands end is somewhere up there as well (my favourite tinderbox song is 92 though)

    p.... b....

+painted bird It blows me away people can't see Tinderbox is about End Times which is about to happen all orchestrated by psychopathic Royal Bankster families who rule the world with Satan as their master

    p.... b....

+painted bird Yes I think this song is mesmerizing. Tinderbox is an awesome album

  25. m.... a....

They didn't really do bad tracks but do genuinely think this is the banshees finest hour. Not McGeoch, I know, but Carruthers plays a fine part here. Some may argue this is one of Budgies best and while I think it is good this album version is slightly to fast for me. Severins bass part here pulls the whole thing together from both a harmonic and counterpoint angle.

    m.... a....

Carruthers is probably my favourite guitarist of the Banshees, you should hear him on Clock DVA's "Advantage" if you havent! and yeah the bassline is really what makes this song imo

    m.... a....

This album is the Apocalypse, most people can't see it because they are deaf, dumb & blind

    m.... a....

    @SoundsofDecay McGeoch 4L !!!
