Sinatra, Frank - Time After Time Lyrics

What good are words I say to you?
They cant convey to you whats in my heart
If you could hear instead
The things Ive left unsaid

Time after time
I tell myself that I'm
So lucky to be loving you

So lucky to be
The one you run to see
In the evening, when the day is through

I only know what I know
The passing years will show
Youve kept my love so young, so new

And time after time
Youll hear me say that I'm
So lucky to be loving you

Thank you. Through blessed decades, this song just about came first place with me and my now late wife (as did countless other treasurable ones such as 'All the Way' and 'You, My Love' by FS; 'The Folks Who Live on the Hill' by practically anyone; 'When I am with You' by J. Mathis; etc. - list available). Still up there, of course.

    M.... D....

ALSO: ALL MY TOMORROWS by FS (S. Cahn & J. Van Heusen from 'A Hole in the Head' 1960s movie)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0YlS8HOuJY
    or my alternative choice
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C--03yhLzqI

Today I may not have a thing at all
Except for just a dream or two.
But I've got lots of plans for tomorrow
And all my tomorrows belong to you.
Right now it may not seem like spring at all
We're drifting and the laughs are few
But I've got rainbows planned for tomorrow
And all my tomorrows belong to you.
No one knows better than I
That luck keeps passing me by, that's fate.
But with you there at my side
I'll soon be turning the tide, just wait.
As long as I've got arms that cling at all
It's you that I'll be clinging to.
And all the dreams I dream, beg, or borrow
    On some bright tomorrow
    they'll all come true,
    And all my bright tomorrows
    belong to you.

    R.... H....

I share the same feeling with you Ross.. thank you so much for giving the video your utmost and kindest attention and appreciation.

    R.... H....

yeah frank was the best it's to bad all the good people pass away like my mom did

  13. G.... C....

Whenever Frank chose to reinterpret songs from his Colombia catalogue, my preference is generally for the Capitol version. I'm not so sure with this track, though. There are a few uncertainties and slight pitching problems here and The Voice sounds a bit tired and frail at critical points. The 1946 recording unquestionably has a superior vocal performance.
I do prefer what Riddle attempted to do with this approach to the arrangement but - unusually - I don't think he quite pulls it off all the way through. The orchestra ends up almost overwhelming the vocal rather than supporting it and the saccharine Mantovani-like string line in the instrumental break is too cloying for my taste.
Overall, I'd have to vote for the Stordahl take but, ideally, I wish there had been a recording which successfully merged the best of both recordings.

    G.... C....

Thank you so much for your kindest attention to the matter. I do respect your opinion.

  14. A.... F....

One of my favorites to sing when I was in chorus

This is Sinatra's second recording of this song, recorded on November 25, 1957 on Capitol with Nelson Riddle originally included in the compilation album, This is Sinatra 2, released in 1958. The original version on the Columbia label was recorded on 10/24/46 with Axel Stordahl's wonderful string accompaniment.

The Stordhal version is far superior. Wonderful arrangement and "the voice" at his brilliant best.
