Sinatra, Frank - In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning Lyrics

In the wee small hours of the morning,
While the whole wide world is fast asleep,
You lie awake and think about the girl
And never, ever think of counting sheep.

When your lonely heart has learned its lesson,
You'd be hers if only she would call,
In the wee small hours of the morning,
That's the time you miss her most of all.

[Musical interlude]

When your lonely heart has learned its lesson,
You'd be hers if only she would call,
In the wee small hours of the morning,
That's the time you miss her most of all.

  4. M.... B....

He was way before my time but what a great performer.

  5. M.... D....

The world picture this beautiful and eloquently written song evokes is quite powerful; it’s exceeded only by the smooth and careful presentation by, really, the only crooner that could do it justice. A tip of the fedora to “The Chairmen Of The Board”. So well done sir!

  6. R.... S....

    That is me every night.

  7. S.... ....

The greatest pop vocalist of the 20th century.

This is the first of the "AVA" LPs. "Where are You?" (1957), "Frank Sinatra sings for Only the Lonely" (1958) and "No One Cares" (1959) were the last three. Sinatra grieved over Ava for several years after their divorce in 1957. However, these aforementioned LPs were extremely successful for the Chairman. Ciao!

  10. B.... S....

This classic LP was released on August 1st, 1955.

I wish my peers of my generation would not only appreciate the music of this era, but also make it fashionable again. There's a smooth elegance and magic to the music. It just feels right you know?

    B.... R....

I couldn’t agree more man , my college mates have no idea what they’re missing out on by listening to only rap ‘music’

    B.... R....

I agree. A lot of kids my age laugh at me for listening to this kind of music but they are really missing out.

    B.... R....

Well we're in the new 20'S, it's time to get DA REAL STYLE BACK.

  39. T.... G....

A masterful piece of musical composition by Francis Albert Sinatra. I’m smiling with great admiration and appreciation for this joyous song. I’m far from my generation, overcome by heart. I want it that way, a soul in a dysfunctional world that does not understand the intelligence and intellectual love for life.

  40. C.... P....

    I love this music

  41. A.... a....

My great grandfather suffered from Alzheimer's in the last few years of his life. When I was around 14 or 15 we found his record collection. We busted out this record and he managed to sing some of it so I sang along with him. I can't listen to this song very often anymore without bursting into tears, but it's such a beautiful track. I'm sure he's duetting with Frank wherever they're at.

  53. J.... C....

During my trip in Japan, this was my most played song. Now I'm listening to this, back home and reminds me of how disciplined the people in Japan are. This makes me sad because our country lacks discipline and unity. And right now, our president is just letting China hurt our fishermen..

    I AM A CATHOLIC.
I DIDN'T WANT TO BE A JEW BECAUSE OF WHAT THE NAZIS DID TO THE JEWS IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR.
SO, I DIDN'T WANT TO BE A JEW NOR A PROTESTANT.
I JUST WANT TO BE A CATHOLIC WHETHER ALWAYS ON THE CHURCH OR SOMETIMES.
    IT'S OKAY.
I WAS A SEMINARIAN FOR TEN YEARS : 4 YEARS MINOR HIGH-SCHOOL; 4 YEARS PHILOSOPHY; 2 YEARS THEOLOGY. THAT'S TEN YEARS.
( 2 YEARS LACKING, SO I COULD BE ORDAINED.)
MY MIND NOW IS TO BE A BAR OWNER.
    AND A BAR PIANIST.
I LIKE TO HAVE A BAR IN MONTEREY PENINSULA; IN L. A.; IN CEBU, PHILIPPINES; IN SAN JOSE.

You old soul; you’ll always be my old love. You may not remember me or maybe you’ve already forgotten me. But I hope the angels guide your window at night and I hope you get enough sunlight on your face. I hope you remember all the times we made each other laugh. I hope you remember my face. I’ll always have yours etched in my memory. I always miss you the most in quiet cafes, at 3am on a warm night or when I’m walking down a long sidewalk; just like in 1942 in New York after we left a show.
