Sinatra, Frank - I Will Wait For You Lyrics

The clock will tick away the hours one by one
And then the time will come when all the waiting's done
the time when you return and find me here and run........
(Straight to my waiting arms)

You guys gotta remember, whenever frank released an album, it was a reflection on how he was feeling at the time. At the end of the day frank had control over how he wanted his albums to sound. In the 50s during the Ava years he had the "Suicide albums" to reflect on his sadness "wee small hours..."
In the mid 60s he was THE TOP of the entertainment business. He could take a sadboi song that everybody else sang and turn it into a happy, full of confidence, swagger song, because that's what HE WAS at the time. In this song, he's saying he'll wait for the girl but in the only way Frank could. He'll wait for the girl while being full of swagger, confidence, and cheer.

The clock will tick away the hours
    One by one,
    Then the time will come
    When all the waiting's done,
    The time when you return
And find me here and run.
    If it takes forever
    I will wait for you,
    For a thousand summers
    I will wait for you,
    Till you're here back,
    Back beside me,
    Till I'm holding you,
    Till I hear you sigh
    Here in my arms.
    Anywhere you wander,
    Anywhere you go,
    Every day remember
    How I love you so,
    In your heart believe
What in my heart I know,
    That forevermore,
    I'll wait for you.

I adore Frank. This rendition is in my top 5 Sinatra songs but his 2 line delivery from 1.20 minutes in, is simply the best that I have ever heard from any artist ever. “ Anywhere you wander. Anywhere you go “ I get shivers from this. Spine tingling ecstasy.

  15. a.... ....

The best rendition is by STEVE LAWRENCE. a better arrangement.

  16. T.... ....

Just watched the movie this from. It was very pretty but I think it'd be better if I spoke French. I feel a lot might have been lost in translation

오늘의 날씨에 딱이다. 멀리있는 너에게 보낸다 . 좋지 ?프랭크이 목소리로도 매력적인 음악.

  25. M.... L....

Frank Sinatra is the only one with this magnificent timing. Combined with his fantastic voice it's pure magic!

  26. o.... S....

Frankie is unique....For thousand years to come

  27. w.... ....

    From "Umbrellas of Cherbourg"

  28. M.... ....

    Frank jazzed it up.
The original version was very emotional. Connie Francis' version is closer to the original French version from the film: Les Parapluies de Cherbourg.

  29. m.... b....

    Excepcional !!!!!!

  30. t.... m....

Sinatra belts out another tune !! Miss you Francis

  39. T.... W....

    Such a beautiful song

  40. E.... B....

This is such a beautifully written song that it's hard to find a "bad" rendition. I've heard pretty much all of them. I still think Sinatra rules.

    E.... B....

+ Eileen Bennett MATT MONRO is better

  41. A.... M....

    I'm gonna cry now guys...

    A.... M....

    why we should care?

    A.... M....

    seymour asses? :c

    A.... M....

Everytime time i hear the song i do cry!!.. it's beautiful and sad 😣😢

    A.... M....

    yes yes yes

  42. b.... a....

le imprimio su propio estilo q solo un grande lo puede hacer

  43. y.... t....

He covered this song way too cheerie this is supposed to have a melancholy solemn regretful feel to it I love sinatra but this one? Out of his league

    y.... t....

Still less cheerfull than Louis Armstrong's rendition.

    y.... t....

+yomommas tittays Well, think of it this way. The Connie Francis version is basically someone who waits even though the person will never come back, Sinatra's version is a slightly more hopeful version...and Louis Armstrong's version is sounds like a promise someone made to wait.

    y.... t....

+ yomommas tittays MATT MONRO make the better intrepetation

    y.... t....

+ yomommas tittays MATT MONRO make the better interpretation

    y.... t....

I believe the singer's heart should dictate the mood of the song----otherwise it will sound artificial----and the listeners should be the final judge of what they listen to. That's the beauty of art. I like the upbeat hopeful sound to the song , and the singer is not bound by the songwriter's intent. I may sing it on YouTube.

  44. M.... ....

    WHAT DO WE WANT?

  45. G.... m....

    καλημερα!!!!!!!!!!!!

    G.... m....

    Ρομαντισμός στο έπακρον ..

    G.... m....

    ******************λατρεμενο!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  46. X.... A....

    Connie Francis's version is saddest

    X.... A....

Probably why it was used in "Jurassic Bark."

    X.... A....

@evilfuzzybunny100 dont even bring that up

    X.... A....

Her version is surely sad. Chris Montez's cover version is more upbeat, but I love this version better.

    X.... A....

    and more beauty

    X.... A....

Frankie's versions are often sadder than anothers , but that is cool.

  47. a.... m....

    This is a sad song

  48. L.... v....

The best version ever. Thanks for uploading!
