Sinatra, Frank - Don't Worry 'Bout Me Lyrics

Don't worry 'bout me
I'll get along
Forget about me
Be happy, my love

Let's say that our little show is over
And so the story ends
Why not call it a day the sensible way
And still be friends

Look out for yourself
Should always be the rule
Give your heart and your love to whom ever you love
Don't you be a fool

Darlin', why stop to cling to some fading thing
That used to be
If you can't forget
Don't you worry 'bout me

Baby, why should you cling to some fading thing
That used to be
If you can't forget
Don't you worry 'bout me

The lyrics have an error above, one that so many people make with this song! It is "if you CAN forget, don't worry about me." Not 'can't!' He's telling her in the song that he knows it's over between them, and advises her not to cling to a fading thing that used to be, but if she can forget, then don't worry about him because he'll get along!

Yep, Ava taught Frank how to sing it sad and bluer than blue.

I love this great Sinatra song, that he recorded in 1953, but sang in many of his concert appearances, sung sometimes after a couple of up-beat numbers, then to quiet the pace and audience down a bit -- masterful! Listen to that orchestra at the interlude -- superb! The song was on several of his albums also, including "Where Are You" out in 1957, one of my favorite albums.

One of my top 10 Frank songs. Tip of the hat to Mr Riddle...great arrangement.

Giving songwriter credit doesn't usually hurt people's feelings.

I hear ya there. Those horns follow the lyrics just right at 1:55. They convey the perfect feeling. Like how your brain processes strong words you just heard into feelings.
