Sinatra, Frank - A Man Alone Lyrics

In me, you see a man alone
Held by the habit of being on his own
A man who listens to the trembling of the trees
With sentimental ease

In me, you see a man alone
Behind the wall he's learned to call his home
A man who still goes walkin' in the rain
Expecting love again

A man not lonely except when the dark comes on
A man learning to live with mem'ries of midnights that fell apart at dawn

In me, you see a man alone
Drinking up Sundays and spending them alone
A man who knows love is seldom what it seems
Only other people's dreams

[instrumental-strings]

A man learning to live with memories of midnights that fell apart at dawn

In me, you see a man alone
Drinking up Sundays and spending them alone
A man who knows love is seldom what it seems
Just other people's dreams

Sinatra, Frank A Man Alone Comments
  1. s.... ....

Despite not being a man, this still (to me) is a great album. Everyone can relate to feelings like that.

  2. B.... S....

It doesn't get any manlier than this, ol'blue eyes was a terrific singer and a real man. They don't make them like that anymore.

  3. O.... ....

    i came here from a tik tok😳

  4. R.... C....

How many of you know that Rod McKuen, composer of these songs was, in the '60's, considered by the critics to be a worse-than-trite poet ? NEVER trust the critics. My God, who can write a song like this ?

  5. j.... s....

  6. M.... C....

Frank was superb with this cut and the entire album.

  7. m.... r....

how so ultimately thoughtful of Frank Sinatra to sing songs for everyone in every situation and attitude of life in such a beautiful way even if the song was not a top hit on the charts. I never heard this album before today but wow I which I had.

  8. B.... V....

When Sinatra sings at his best, you realize everyone else is just pretty good.
