Sin Shake Sin - Trendsetter Lyrics

Sit back baby let the show begin
Well the train wreck is coming can I get an amen
Freak show talk behind a silhouette
The circus came to town and it hasn't left yet

Just ignore the past, divide the people
Multiply the cash, hide behind a steeple
So sit on your ass and ask for nothing better
Congratulations you're a t-t-trendsetter

Now the world's back to flat and we're sitting on the edge
And they've already re-written what happens next

They'll tell you you've been dying since the day you were born
If you wanna move ahead you better wait your turn

Just ignore the past, divide the people
Multiply the cash, hide behind the steeple
So sit on your ass and ask for nothing better
Congratulations you're a t-t-trendsetter

This masquerade will end when you say when
This masquerade will end when you say when

Just ignore the past, divide the people
Multiply the cash, hide behind the steeple
So sit on your ass and ask for nothing better
Congratulations you're a t-t-trendsetter

What are you waiting for, just sit on your ass and ask for nothing better, congratulations you're a trendsetter

This song is, in my opinion, even more important now than when it was written. America is so partisan and divided right now and we’re contemplating going to war for reasons I can’t understand that are likely monetary considering our past wars of this sort (if anyone knows the reason, please tell me. I could be wrong.) Flat earthers and antivaxxers are more common than ever and I can only hum this song to myself as I hope it will all end soon.

  17. W.... ....

I just found you guys like couple of days ago in Spotify by accident. And I asked myself how the hell haven't I heard of you before?! h o w in the-- you know what, it doesn't matter. I've become a religious fan basically overnight and you guys aren't obviously appreciated enough. Your sound is amazing and lyrics are on spot. Badass music that makes political statements? Count me in. I'll be distributing your music everywhere, everyone should hear you guys, honestly!

  18. B.... C....

I like the message, but not this quote in your description: 'calls out those who sit by complacently and watch their society crumble.' I am not complacent. You posted a link in a private message to this video. I normally report that kind of thing as spam but it's actually good.

  19. t.... ....

    TOO GOOD !

  20. C.... C....

    This is so spot on.

  21. J.... C....

I barely got around to seeing your message, I was pretty surprised with the quality of the music and video. It's nice to see some unique new music being made, keep it up.

    J.... C....

  28. T.... R....

I received a invite to check this out and I have to say the video is fun to watch and the song is cool! Well done!

  29. m.... ....

    killer man.

  30. S.... L....

Sorry for the late response, this is a good song!  The beat and lyrics are good, thank you for sharing, really like!

  31. A.... t....

Hey! Got your message. Sorry to have responded so slowly. Great music! Keep it up! Subscribed!

  32. b.... ....

hey dude, I don't know why I am just now getting your message, it's dated of 7months.   But yeah, I sure like both the vid and the jam.  You say that these are your Ideas, as far as the individual lines/ drums, etc???  That's way cool.  I'm 34 and have been a musician for the better part of it: many people put their axe down and give it up when they find either that they can't do it or that their "Big dreams of Rockstardom" died back in '88.  So I am well aware of the dedication involved in keeping shit together and moving forward.  With that  I offer a big thumbs up, sometimes I wish I had an extra one for times like this.lol

  33. s.... ....

Superb love the aggressive beat throughout the track its like a pumping heartbeat..

  34. J.... M....

Awesome work! I just found your message from 3 months ago.  Wish I'd found it sooner!!

  35. W.... P....

Great work! You definitely deserve more views :D

  36. R.... V....

You need a logo, this shit is awesome aural stimulation.

  37. B.... H....

Well, you invited me to listen to your song. Thank you for asking and for considering me. The video was great (really good editing). The lyrics were good. But the structure and timing of the melody was broken up -- too many pauses. The vocals also had too much bull-horn filter on them (at least that's what I was getting on my end). I would like to hear a re-synched version with an up-tempo beat. Did you destroy the separate work tracks already? If not, I would like to play with the song and see if I can re-cook it.

  38. D.... D....

    Excellent! :)  \m/

  39. g.... m....

i think this one of the better songs on the cd...but they are all great songs...congrats to stacy....who wrote all the songs .

  44. C.... R....

Very catchy, message was not lost, hidden yet in your face, not sorry I checked it out & kept on going from each of your videos to the next, getting more impressed as I went. Reminds me of my own lyrical style yet I'm only a shadetree songwriter ,would like to collaborat ,as I am a drummer with a few songs of my own. Big props to ya

  45. R.... ....

...and people say rock is dying. Fuck 'em. This reminds me of when NIN was still great.

If you like softer female vocals and songs about tragedy, check out my bands' channel; Caitlyns Diary.

Rock music is like a barrel of dead frogs...just when you think it's really starting to stink someone manages to plug in and create a twitch.

  47. D.... N....

You've got my vote.  Right to the heart of the problem.  I'll be posting at my blog.  Thanks.

  53. W.... J....

Hey ! This is Awesome ! Love it !

  54. D.... W....

I really liked this! How long have you been at it?

  55. A.... ....

This is a good song. It has the wrong message (the proper solution to our problems is not democracy, but technocracy) but it is a good statement of what is happening.

    A.... ....

How would a system lead by tech experts be any better than any other Oligarchy? Technological expertise doesn't mean they have what it takes to run a country. However, I also don't think that the knuckleheads we have right now have what it takes either. Of course what we have isn't a legitimate democracy, but a bastardized shadow of one.

    A.... ....

@Devon Wingate I am guessing you are familiar with the corrupted/'modern' meaning of the word 'technocracy'. Well, using that we will not get very far - indeed, that will amount to little more than politicians with degrees. What I am talking about is the Technocracy created in 1936 by the Technical Alliance, which was meant to replace our age-old currency system with a new one using technology for the well being of all.

Now before you bring in the criticism, think about this: Every system so far employed has failed to achieve it's ideals for two reasons: It's political, meaning dependant on opinions of whoever is in charge, and second, uses currency meaning that it is easy for an elite - any elite - to sabotage it. You had politics and elites in Athens, you had politics and elites in Mussolini's Italy, you had politics and elites in the U.S.S.R., and you still have them pretty much everwhere in the modern world.

Technocracy (the one I am talking about, not the faux-named ones of Europe of today or the Mitt Romney-inspired one) offers a design to employ all the science and technology we have acquired so far for the benefit of humanity, and does so in a way that it cannot fail - because unlike the other systems, it is neither political (compare with an electrician creating a circuit -- the laws of physics will not bend for him, and he goes with his opinion anyways, the circuit will not work) and it does not uses currency (meaning an elite cannot arise to sabotage the system).

I am not saying men of old who inspired modern democracies had the wrong idea, after all they did the best with what they had. But it has outlived it's usefulness, and the very fact that day-by-day we are reverting to the oligarchies of old just goes to show the inherent imperfections of democracy. So far the biggest limitation to personal freedom I have seen are no longer laws or dictatorships, but rather currency and the elites based around it. Exploitation of man by man must end, and unlike the Venus Project (which has nice goals but no proper plans), the Technate design offers a clear blueprint through which eventually all of humanity can benefit from the technology we have developed - unlike today where technology is used to exploit others even more.

    A.... ....

I see. Well, I'd be very interested to see how such a system would be implemented. Especially with so many people being irrationally afraid of new things and also are so very ignorant to the point of being dangerous to an ever evolving society. Cheers! Here's to the future.

    A.... ....

@Devon Wingate Well, the system would have two choices: The present system collapses (and a technocracy replaces it during the emergency period) or we can achieve it through a referendum (which was the preferred method of the first technocrats). Unfortunately I think it will have to ocurr through the first due to the reason you have mentioned yourself. Thank you for taking the time to read, by the way. And take care.

  56. G.... ....

Wow this song is freaking awesome!

  57. C.... ....

this is right up my alley, too bad america is full of idiot who voted red when republicans do more lying and screwing over the middle class and poor but that is the fault of a misinformed and apathetic people

    C.... ....

illusion of choice. people of the parties.

  58. C.... T....

I thought I'd comeback and tell you It's been 3 days and this song is still popping into my head now and then. That's a good sign.

  59. N.... W....

The mix is a little dodgy, better in some parts than others and tone changes about 3 times. IDK what the dynamic range of this is now, but the way to fix these kinds of things is NOT to compress/limit everything and make it flat and loud. The whole industry has gone crazy for 20 years now. The only thing that would make me consider supporting you is if you don't participate in the "Loudness War." Again, IDK if you are now.

  60. A.... K....

    wow....very very good..i like it..thank you

  61. P.... R....

    nice tune!

  62. M.... D....

Hey love the song. Really good lyrics btw
Glad I checked this out, anyway subscribed!

  63. w.... w....

O i feel so cool, thought it whas  a some artist starting. But checking you out before i would drop a comment. No new kid on the block but a serius artist. And i got picked out becouse of mine comments and got a personal check me out shout out.So i did and its the sound i like.Dident new all the bands you wrote for only seether, hoobastank (wow) ringed a bell. Its the moderne equivelent of selling tapes from the back of youre car that aint bad.I liked the song i just listend to and understand the message ironic because whe are setting a trend oureself by doing this,Rage against the machine,Tool,NIN,System of a down. Its lets you think. These messages cant not be to often said educate the masses with guitar and songlyrics.A singer, songwriter producer, musicion, visual artist etc etc.So defently whil check the album out being compared to Muse by a critic whel i got nothing more to add for that.So i subrided, and a thumb up.And hope that more artist whill give me a call when the drop a new album. It doesnt get more personal than this i love youtube.

  64. L.... T....

i believe in that power blues sort of musiq. play it

  65. j.... ....

    Very good

  66. C.... T....

Thank you for spamming me. It was a much better experience than some office full of Russians trying to make me believe some chick from St. Petersburge who I've never met, wants to come and visit.

    So... Opinion...

Enjoyed it. Lyrics and music both. I'd be more specific but I've only listened once.
OK twice now. Really did like it. If I was doing it the only thing I would change is use real drums(if you did, I am really embarrassed) drums sounded a bit to perfect IMO. I would give them a more raw sound with crisper louder snare & more crash and just a touch more volume(if It was mine)
I would like to know what instruments, equipment, Software Etc. you used (if you feel like it)
Would also like to hear your stuff from Universal or anything else you have.

BTW I'm a musician too. Guitar, mostly. let me know if you are short a guy if you go on tour.(yes that's me shamelessly asking for a break)

  67. J.... P....

great video editing, but more important the song is a great piece of music.

  68. j.... ....

Lol....I also got the message. normally I don't click. Glad I did this time. Like it a lot.

  69. P.... S....

HI there sinner contact me on [email protected]

  70. a.... .....

    great song.i really like it

  71. M.... ....

I really like the style , such as Nine Inch Nails . Congratulations !

  72. L.... W....

Wow! This was unexpected. I really like it.

I get a lot of these 'please see my video' requests. I ignore most. It's The New Spam. And honestly, the request this time, I don't know...it struck me as spam too. But something, maybe the polite tone, worked. Cause I'm here. I listened. And I love it.

So much so I went on Wimp and listened to the entire album (Lunatics and Slaves). Just as high quality as this song indicates. And definitely going to my favorites. The titel song is, btw, my favorite. But they're all really good.

As for the lyrics, well, I must admit I have been caught up in the sound more than the text. And not 100% sure I share the political view. But again, haven't been paying much attention to that part yet. That said, I love the fact, that this ain't just another lovesong-album.

Great job! Looking forward to more of your work.

    L.... W....

(and yeah, for once I shared my YouTube activity on G+, cause I think there might be one or two in my feed, who'd like this song too).

  95. B.... N....

I like it. Very Nine Inch Nails-esque.

    B.... N....

@Brad Novack Yes, that tune for sure is NIN inspired.. while others on the albums draw from a vast array of influences.. all centered round social issues/ truths, etc....  Keep rockin'
