I heard this song back in the 80's but not again until now. I had a verse stuck in my head and looked it up. Still a great song today. Sad that this song didn't get the recognition it deserved, I like this better than their other bigger hits.

I am heading toward seventy years of age, and I don't or can't listen to a lot of current music. I was always aware of the reputation afforded to Simple Minds, but I have just got into them in a big way in recent months. Great vocals by Jim Kerr, guitar work by Burchill sublime and the band as tight as a drum. Doesn't get any better than this...

great song! amazingly underrated

This song hit me hard a few years ago. I was in a deep depression and contemplating ending it all. The line 'I'm too proud to cry' hit me the hardest and made so much sense to me as a father and a provider, hiding my true emotions from my family. Thankfully, now I can listen to this masterpiece from a much more positive point of view after speaking out and having the support of my loved ones. This song is forever a reminder of the ups and downs of my life and love that I never knew existed.
