Silversun Pickups - Neon Wound Lyrics

This was the opener for the San Diego concert. I think they lengthened the intro by about a minute and it was AMAZING. That long slow energy build to the opening line was worth the ticket price by itself. I'm only disappointed that the album version doesn't have the extra intro in it now. :-P

They haven't lost a beat. Quality music as always. Excited to be seeing them live again in LA this February! Fuck yeah!

I became a fan of Silversun Pickups after hearing songs from Swoon in a local Best Buy store. I was hooked after that. I listened to Carnavas soon after. The band has it all: musicianship, drumming, vocals like no one else, bass, etc.

This is exactly the sound that made Silversun Pickups popular a decade ago, and they don't do enough of it.

i discovered these guys (and girl) in 2009 with another up and coming band opening for them (Temper Trap) at a small venue in Paris. I've since seen both several times but that night was special.

That's promising. Carnavas is easily tied with Swoon as their best album.

Alas, it's the only good song on the album.

After Carnavas and Swoon, I proclaimed this band as the next greatest thing in rock music. But then they started to mellow. I've listened to five songs from this album so far and this is the most upbeat. The others are verging on, I'm sorry to say, elevator music. I'll still listen to them again and the rest of the new album, but I have to say I'm pretty disappointed.

After two days to really listen to the album, I would now have to say it's equal to Neck Of The Woods. A great album, no doubt. I just miss the heavier rawness of the first two albums. Sliversun Pickups will still remain one of my favorite bands.

Listening to All the go inbetweens, or three seed....and then anything on this album makes me long for the old days.

I'm just going through each song and so far, this one is one of my favorites just simply because it carries some energy to it. It's energy I miss from Neck of the Woods and I haven't really gotten it since. This song is close, it carries echoes of Swoon and Neck of the Woods combined with the more synthy electronic nature of Better Nature.

Upon first listen I'd say this is my favorite song on the album but as you guys know with any sspu album after a number of listens that can change frequently lol so happy to FINALLY get a new record from my favorite band. Been counting down the days since Better Nature dropped in 2015. Here's to hoping we don't have to wait another 4 year for something new again. Cheers everyone!! And happy listening. I listen to all of the albums interchangeably now, they're all great, and rarely is a song skipped unless it's just not the vibe I'm feeling at the moment. Can't rank them because I love everything they've released, definitely a unique band.
