This is the song that got me into Silverstein, and a lot of their material is different (in a good way) but I would not mind if they just put out an album full of these acoustic/midwest emo inspired tracks. This is probably one of my favorites ever. Thanks.

this song reminds me of a place a grew up. it was such a quite place. as i got older it turned into a busy town with night clubs and bars. its like my hometown never existed.

So happy to see Shane's vocal progression over the years listening to them! My first album hearing them was Discovering the Waterfront and I've memorized all of their songs since. This one is beautiful.

this song strikes a very personal chord with me, Growing up here, moving away and coming back home. Nothing compares to the hatred and love i have for this city. Everything changes so quickly, yet nothing seems to change at all. Toronto will forever remain home in my heart. Moving away to Vancouver made me miss this shithole year after year i was gone. As much as i hate it i can never escape here. This song expresses that feeling more perfectly than i ever could.

I disagree, This Is How The Wind Shifts is their best effort so far. I've been listening to them for about 15 years now, that is, in my opinion, their best album.

Shit, Im 33.... I love all the albums for what they are though. So hard to say what my fav is. Depends on my mood.

They played this in Michigan on the 31st, they were so great along with coldrain, emarosa, being as an ocean and the other band that was there. 10/10 would see them again live

Silverstein has been one of my favorite bands since I was a teenager and as I get older and make music of my own I can't help but come back and listen to these guys and feel inspired all over again. They are still as good as they were when i first heard them and this song in particular just hits so home. Beautiful guys!!

Holy shit, this isn't meant to hate on them at all. I used to listen to Silverstein a while ago, but they used to have hyper emo-sounding music. This is much better.

Having just listened to the whole thing, I think I could happily rank this as my 2nd favourite Silverstein album under Discovering the Waterfront. Fantastic, truly.

@GallifreyRises I'm right there with you! Discovering the Waterfront and This Is How The Wind Shifts have been tied for 1st for me and this is probably my next favorite right now and could creep up to tie with those guys.

@SilversteinRescue both of them are beautifully put together, they are the albums that have to be fully listened to, otherwise you find yourself wanting more. I also have to nominate Arrivals and Departures for the top 3 for sure. That album is a nice tempo change and I feel like it it has some really hard hitting songs on it.

Really though, this band has been stellar in every album they have pumped out, and its amazing hearing how much more evolved the are becoming with each new album.

Seriously. This album got bumped to the 2nd place in my top 3 of them. First being discovering the waterfront and A shipwreck in the sand, respectively. But they're all great to listen to.

@Matt Sheppard It's got a few of their best songs ever but also a few of their worst, so I'm really torn. I want to love it but right now I think I just like it.

@secretivesounds I don't think it has some of their worst songs at all. I think this album is pretty much flawless, it flows so well and is so catchy. One of my favorites already and they've been my all time favorite band for 8 years.

@Matt Sheppard Songs from 2 to 5 are okay, songs from 6 to 12 are at TIHTWS level.

Being from Toronto makes this hit home 10x more

Holy shit balls.  Shane has definitely been working on his singing.  He sounded amazing on every track, and every track was better than the last...not sure what my favorite is yet besides all of them.  9.5/10

The album was amazing, after listening to it all, it's so amazing, but then this song came up. No words can describe how amazing this is. WOW! Also, we need an acoustic album from these guys. They do it the best!
