Shipwreck is my favorite album so far. The whole album was a journey filled with so many swirling tones of emotion. Slowly discovering the fictional story behind it, connecting the dots, putting the pieces together, the tears, the goosebumps, and the head banging. One of my all time favorite albums.

I think is wierd how people say each album of Silverstein has another genre.
In fact, they just mix it.
Their are just in each album some elements who are more stronger.
Like A Shipreck In The Sand has more screams and vicious feelings.
Discovering The Waterfront is more sad and hurt.
Arrivals And Departures is a lot about love and the mistakes of it.
When Broken Is Easily Fixed has a lot about being hurt and having a broken heart.
Rescue has no structure in that tho.. what makes it less good.

there's been changes in silversteins music for every album, most of them are just very mild. and in a lot of interviews regarding a new album, the bandmembers tell about how they changed up the writing process or recording process for the so manieth time as well. silverstein is the one band that shows you can grow (up) as a band without commercializing/standardizing your music.

Silverstein is one of the few bands that continue playing the same type of music since they first started. They are capable of something mote technicle, a new taste of music will be welcome by the fans Silverstein. Its time to tune it up like thrice, taking back Sunday, brand new, atreyu, alkaline trio and all those other bands did. A change is welcome don't be afraid to grow up as a band :)

Christians use it to represent the 5 wounds of Christ, Wiccans use it similarly as a Christian does with a cross (for protection from evil. HOWEVER, a reversed Pentagram, is considered an evil symbol. I would have to see the design Shane Told is wearing. Or it could be a fashion symbol used on a shirt. @ImFlippVideos There's just something that was THERE on Discovering the Waterfront and Shipwreck in the Sand. And it's just not there anymore. Can't even describe what it is. Maybe it's that I was 15 when I heard all that stuff for the first time.

Oh my god just take almost every modern song out there, take out the annoying bridges that are there just to fill the time, take out the third chorus at the end which is also useless and you are at 1:30 too. there's no reason to complain

Even though all of the songs are under 1:30 (which makes sense, it's called SHORT SONGS people), every song makes me feel like I just listened to a full song, it's so amazing. And, as far as style goes, I don't think Silverstein have changed a bit. They still have soft and heavy songs, all of which sound amazing! So just enjoy the music, and don't say it should be longer, because it's from SHORT SONGS.

As far as I'm concerned, Silverstein have done it again. \m/,

@looktothesky6 i could not disagree more.. the only differences with silverstein is they've grew as a band and they've changed record label. other than that.. their direction and sound as a band.. is still silverstein... it's not the first time they've made a song that sounds like this.

When it comes to post hardcore music the fans tend to prefer the punk or metal side more; short songs is probably great for everyone into the punk aspect of Silverstein's music but after coming out with an album less than a year ago that showed they still hadn't forgotten their heavy edge this is disappointing to people like me. I have all their albums but I won't be adding Short Songs to the collection.

There's only a few bands that make it this long in their career with succesful albums. Silverstein is one of those few bands that remain. They have done so much and their work is greatly appreciated. But it seems to be they're only getting started.

Short Songs not only proves how talented Silverstein actually is but it shows how much they've grow up since day one. It is an amazing album to listen to. I just cannot get enough.

Goddamn, I'm so excited for this. It has been a while since Silverstein has grabbed my attention, and I know this is going to do the trick.
