The afterglow, this, demons, whiplash, and retrograde were my personal highlights from this album. Most of the rest kind of blended together. Still definitely their best album since This is how the wind shifts in my opinion.

So glad they didn't forget where they came from, this sounds a lot like Discovering the Waterfront (which is my favorite album by them), brings so much memories. Lots of bands gone pop now so they can sell more records which sucks, gotta appreciate Silverstein though.

I think this song is all about his ex screwing him over.

My guess would be she was expecting proposal, when he didnt she fucked around on him. This song to me says she wanted to move fast, he wanted to move slow but he really loved the relationship. When he didn't move fast she fucked around on him and it crushed him to the point he wanted to die.

I would also assume the "aquamarine" was like a promise ring, or something of that nature.

I was in Burlington, Ontario, one summer, way, way back. The band played to about 200 people and it was the most energizing show I'd ever seen. I was still just a teenager and everything Shane sang and screamed resonated with me. The day Broken released, I was in CD Plus and as I jammed it in my Discman on the walk home, my hands were shaking. I've seen this band grow so much over the years and change all along. And yet, the core that is Silverstein is strong and carries along. With where they are now, this is just the perfect song for them. A bit pop punk, a bit post hardcore, and every step they've taken to get here has been a part of an incredible journey. When I say I'm proud of them, I mean that sincerely. After 11 live shows and hours of honest conversation, this is, all always will be my favourite band and the best thing Canadian music has ever done.

KungPow123 It may be because I'm used to screams, but I'd wish that the clean voice and screams where mixed. Both styles give different feelings which mix up perfectly

Most of the uncleans on this album just leave something to be desired. Shane started mixing it in back on This Is How the Wind Shifts. It was tolerable in small doses, but now apparently it's the go to.

I used to enjoy these guys. back in my teens, when "emo" was fresh and interesting. As I've matured, I just don't find this enjoyable anymore...a lot of it is the whiney vocals, which I used to find cool back in the day. Now it just sounds like whiney teenage angst. Sorry guys not trying to sound like a dick but this just sounds like kid music to me now. I guess I was never a true fan because I never followed them too closely, but I enjoyed "lying in your sleep" back then along with a couple songs off of their first album, but even that sounds slightly juvenile to me now. Sorry for being a "naysayer" guys...went into this with an open mind, but this is just too "whiney" for me anymore, and frankly, this guy is in his 30s now and needs to quit singing like he's 18 and mature vocally. Look at Asking Alexandria for example. He matured from sounding like a "kid" (which worked on the first album) to sounding like a mature and great rock/metal sInger. This style is not doing it for me anymore. But if you guys dig it that's cool.
