Man, I have watched this video on YouTube a lot since it was posted in 2010, along with a lot of other tracks from Bright Flight and from the Joos in general. So weird to see it suddenly flooded with so many recent comments. I don’t have social media and just happened upon news of his death. Profoundly sad. Before Vandy’s radio station in Nashville got the ax some years ago they were playing a lot of SJ songs after their farewell concert in Cumberland Caverns. That’s when I first discovered them. It really feels like the end of an era. RIP David.

It was the era of non music music, there were dozens of these out of tune Art rock bands in the 1980s and 90s. Moldy Peaches, White Stripes, the list is endless. If you had a real music talent you'd be rejected. I lived in Manhatten in the hey day of Beck and the lower eat side, this was the estestic and its a whole set of genres and subgenres now. Showgaze was one of the first definitions of it.
