It always irritates me when people suggest that just because someone did something first, the original by default will automatically be better than any version afterward. Maybe people should listen with an open ear. To this particular version, I think Silk did an amazing job with this song. Jon Jon's falsetto is rich and beautiful, and I think they did the originals proud.

AJ Juicy the original was great. I don't think anyone is disputing that and I doubt Silk would have chosen to sing it if it wasn't. My issue comes in when people automatically assume that because something was done first, it will forever be the better version. While that is often the case, that is most certainly not always the case. Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You is a perfect example. But I also don't know if the artists go in trying to compete with their predecessors. Maybe they just really like the song and want to sing it. This version of Switch's song is incredible imo. That does not devalue the original. It just acknowledges that someone else paid wonderful homage. And sometimes, we just don't like a cover. But if you're being honest, do you not like the cover because it was truly not a good song, or do you not like it because you have some unsolicited allegiance to the original version? That's what I am gleaning from most of these commenters when they say "no one will ever be better than the original." You have no way of knowing that, and you're not even giving the cover a chance. The third option, do you not like the cover because you are comparing it to the original and deem that the original is better? If your answer is the second or third option, then I believe that you might revisit how you are listening to the cover because you will put yourself in a place to be immediately closed off to the cover. Those are just my thoughts.

And to whoever wanted to knw who is leading this song, his name is Jon Jon (my boo) and he had the highest voice so this was appropriate for him. The one ur referring to is Gary aka lil g....I love him too but everything is not meant for him...anyway GOOD JOB SILK

I'm not feeling it...it sounds overdubbed and overmixed. It ain't got the "FLOWWW" of the original version. It ain't rocket science y'all, if you gonna do a cover tune-you gotta sound more like the original than yourself or it ain't really a tribute song. The proof is in the numbers.

While I am a huge fan of Silk, I think they should have left this one alone. The hard driving rhythm in the music as well as vocals are sorely missing. Silk is just as their name suggests .. but this one just didn't do it for me. By the way .. what's up with them doing cover tunes?

I don't like this as much as El, Boby & the boys original! The music, band & production isn't as good in this version! Switch souded like they had the background of a full Jazz Orchestra!
