Silent Planet - Nervosa Lyrics
Look straight through me - look at the nightmare.
Our past is but a dream that we’re trying to escape, trying to evade to erase ourselves.
Look through me and see the advent of our obsessions.
Behold, your child, perfection - a rotting shell of atrophy
Scapegoat: Rather die and know, drag your failing body in tow - witnessing the wake, conflagrate the ready oil at the stake
Binging: The culmination of purging what our lusts have borne. We hoarded all the world to find we’d lost any semblance of ourselves.
This dying dance
I am not my own reflection. I am not myself, I am not myself.
No, I am haunted by a non-existent Lover:
The spectre, the ghost, the soul-starving host.
I am haunted by a non-existent lover
I’ll be pale to match the walls and warped to trace the beams;
flushed to fit across the floor so you can step right over me.
Scouring this filthy slate these crooked bones they won’t break straight -
cracked and splintered like our house, upended by that first summer squall
Fading: so thin, you could snap me into the shape you need - gaunt enough to slide through that wedding dress.
Then stitch me to a fraying matrimony embalmed inside a never-ending ceremony.
I am not my own reflection. I am not myself, I am not myself.
No, I am haunted by a non-existent Lover:
The spectre, the ghost, the soul-starving host.
I am haunted by a non-existent lover
I was gifted with the vision but cursed to be the witness
Invisible to me… invisible to me… invisible to me

Silent Planet Nervosa Comments
This was the first silent planet song I ever heard and I always enjoy every time I come back
These guys can never write a bad song. Its impossible
Fit For A King, AngelMaker and now, Silent Planet are my favourites bands ever.
I've been hooked on this band for 2 years now
música boa do caralho, tomar no cu.
This song may have kept me from hurting myself tonight
Need a song about bulimia
behold your child, perfection - a rotting shell of atrophy
Poeticore
This is just mesmerizing to listen
love this song
This is hands down my favorite Silent Planet song.
Anyone else notice Puscifer at 0:11?
Cory gives me chills.Yes.
But have you read Sartre?
Actually, this is my new fave album. Reading the lyrics is a wormhole.
It's so good, I hope to hear more from this band.
Fuck this band is great.
welp looks like ive been living under a rock cuz im sorry I havent heard about you guyz sooner
Doctors Frasier and Niles Crane unavailable for comment. Seriously though, good band. Talented people. I met Garrett briefly in Nashville, TN and he seemed like a nice guy.

Great album!
Bought a Tshirt that was on clearance with the band name on it because I liked the design. I figured it was a band so I decided to look it up later when I got home... I regret nothing. Plus it was on sale haha
At first, I thought this song was about the rejection of religion. "I am haunted by a non existent lover" I thought that was describing religion until I watched the song's breakdown peice by peice. Then I realizex it was about a mental disorder I can't spell properly.
my only complaint about this entire album is that the guitar is mixed way too low. Just saw them live for the second time last week and they completely blew me away again. However, the guitar parts on the record do not compare to how perfectly mixed their sound was when i just saw them live again and i just wished it was mixed better on this record.
Thank you so much for this song ! I've needed something like this for so long, struggling with my obsession. I hope this song will help me get back up to where I was. I have no words. Thank you. It's the lyrics I need and the type of music I love. Thank you again, Silent Planet, you guys rock!!! Keep going! People need songs with moving words, just like yours.
These lyrics are good but nightmare inducing.
speechless..
🤘🤘🤘✌️✌️✌️✊✊
Literally the best lyrics come from this band. So detailed and thought out. These guys should be millonaires, not Kanye West. it's a sad world that we live in.
kanye's stuff is actually pretty deep. Listen to pretty much anything on his College Dropout album.
Tap Water I think you missed his point.
Christian Prog Metal
I fucking love this band
This band is extremely underrated. Everything Was Sound Album has a refined beautiful sound almost as comparable to a clean cut from a extremely hot sword where the sword remains cleansed
The lyrics...damn
Who's the second singer on this ? IT's a featuring ?
Cory Brandan Putman , vocalist of band Norma Jean , check them out , they are great !
Love this song and love this band <3 Can't believe I've seen them live 😊
I have BDD, and honestly this song hits it hard. I cant stand myself sometimes, looking in the mirror i see someone else. "I am haunted by a non-existent lover"
Tom Cunnington what's bdd?
+mac c. Body dysmorphic disorder
This is mad. I'm hooked
So real! So human! Real creativity musically and emotionally. So heavy but beautifully!
We are born as Man, Man lies to themselves that God does not exist, but we all cannot deny the existence of God. He awaits us no matter the doubt we face, I have prayed unto my Lord God, my Shepard that He keeps me safe and my faith lasts forever as His love does
Lust_for _snipers That is what is meant when we say "I"
The "I" is "God"
lol what?
Man lies to themselves that there is a "God".
beautiful

He put me goosebumps <3
Everytime.
I love it!!
This is seriously one of the best songs they've ever made. And all their songs are amazing.
Zach Simpson honestly I can't wait to see you in like 4 or 5 months also I found you
I actually couldn't emotionally handle this song at first. So much power behind a topic that I hold so close
This is perfection. The lyrics, the atmosphere, and especially the chorus with Corey from NJ. Think I found my new jam
with Cory by @NOrmaJean
Been a while since I've given Silent Planet a listen, but MAN. They BROUGHT IT with this album.
Oh the beauty.
Man such a haunting song.
fico nervosa foi( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ???
Wow, one of the most powerful songs I've heard in a long time. I love that you guys made this and I love how it can be applied to life in general, not just ED issues. Made me tear up lol.
I think this is the best son on the album, love it.
😍😍😍
This is the best thing I have ever heard. <3 I've been anorexic almost my whole life.
Smoked a blunt to this and immediately got hypnotized
The intro to this song always, and I mean always, give me goosebumps. The feels and emotions captured in the music and the lyrics is so real! Just wow
Norma Fuckin Jean!
3:17 you get snoop dog coming out of smoke
Guest Vocalist is Cory Brandan from Norma Jean 🙌🏻
non-existent Lover?
There is an interview that the vocalist does for all of the songs where he talks through the basis to all of the songs and he explains it there. It's like a personification of the disorder that plagues the affected person :)
+umm err ah now I understand more of it. I'd like to see those videos, where did you see them?
@***** thanks :)
damn good
Calling this band good would be an insult. Been only listening to yall about a month but stumbling upon this newer content I am very happy i found this band honestly. Very deep lyrics and solid instruments
Lyrical style reminds me of Corey Lockwood from A lot Like Birds!
Thats a good thing..
This album has the best lyrics in music!
Is that Cory on guest vocals? Damn he's amazing, probably my favourite metalcore vocalist, his voice is perfect mix of aggresiveness and melody. This makes me so excited for new Norma Jean record
Everytime I hear this song I think the exact same thing! So excited for their new album.
their new album is fucking awesome
Polar Similar is unreal. You must be satisfied :D
I love his voice, he's just a talented singer with a unique voice
Am I the only one who loves the music as much as the album artwork/concept? Simply beautiful
Yea, I was pleasantly surprised receiving the cd at home and discovering the artwork and concept behind this release.
This band knows how to do guest spots Spencer and Cory on the same album too good for words!
Norma Jean, theyre dropping a new album soon!
@Michal Andrzejczuk i'll have to check it out then!
I started listening to Norma Jean from "Deathbed Atheist", I recommend you do the same :)
Who is Spencer?
TheRandomSpectator Underoaths frontman
this is my favorite song so far
this is easily my favorite song on the album
It's so good
Why's the song called Nervosa? (it means nervous in my language)
"Medical Definition of anorexia nervosa. : a serious eating disorder primarily of young women in their teens and early twenties that is characterized especially by a pathological fear of weight gain leading to faulty eating patterns, malnutrition, and usually excessive weight loss."
@Kyle Bishop Thanks for the explanation, Kyle :)
taylor goulart The lead singer said he wrote this song about a patient he had as a therapist, and it's about how she slowly lost her mind to the eating disorder.
@citiz3n 94 Very interesting, I really admire Garrett and have him as an inspiration for life!
Kyle Bishop thank u sorrow, from Chris, awesum band just,found,way!!!!!!!7 too.late. mdd.ocd.PTSD...this music..
.
. panic room. Nuff.said. I believe tho a God.*sumwhere.
Yussss! Can't stop the eargasm train <3 So much good music coming out this month!
I am just speechless. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. This album is even better than Architect's one. Thank You Silent Planet.
SOULFLYAAA, not better than Architects.
@Empty soul yea it was architects is overrated garbage and they use the same song structure for every song listen to downfall and doomsday
Steven Rodriguez its true you probably also like wage war i prevail and a day to remember lmao what other mcdonalds metalcore bands you like cuckold
Definitely. Silent Planet is leagues above any other band in the scene right now, especially in terms of lyrics. Musically speaking, Loathe comes to mind as being on the same level.
@Steven Rodriguez avoid the question and proceed to deflection all because i hurt ur feelings about ur favorite band LMAO
As someone who's struggled with Anorexia for six years, this was definitely needed
I love this band with such a passion
This song is so beautifully structured and made as well
lmao I was looking for your comment
lmao me too.
Im glad to know this song did something good for you, i really hope everything is going well for you love! Anorexia is a horrible illness that should get way more attention than it gets. I have some good friends, who struggles and has struggled with it. And it really hurts my soul to see how they are fighting sometimes.
gay as fuck
x _ x what is this comment about?
This is my favorite song off the album so far. Not the best song, but it's the one that caught me.
No this is the best song and it's deserving. It's incredible
Yeah I don't know why I said that.
Zach Simpson psychescape is the best one
the whole album is good let's be honest lol there's no best it's all the best
Who is the guest vocalist??
Sounds like the vocalist of Norma Jean but I can't say for sure.
You are correct.
Perhaps favourite.
Amazing
Definitely one of my favorites off this album
This is the first I'm hearing Silent Planet and I really like what I hear! The lyrics are so captivating.
This is probably my favorite album by them but both their debut EP, "Come Wind, Come Weather" and their first album, "The Night God Slept" are absolutely incredible as well. They also did an EP just prior to TNGS called "lastsleep", but if you have TNGS already, you basically have the whole EP aside from two instrumental tracks.
Also, if you have the opportunity to catch them live, definitely do. They put on an amazing show, and they are really down-to-earth guys.
Check out the Night God Slept. Its amazing!
Agreed. That album got me hooked. Everything was Sound just further pushed the needle in.
All their music is absolutely amazing. Saw them live in Portland at the Analog Theatre and they put on an insane show. We were moshing in a room that barely fit 100 people
@Thomas Flood bro rest in peace to the analog i played so many good shows there. miss it it closed last year :(
Such talent and art. You guys are amazing, lyrically and instrumentally.
Who is doing the guest vocals? It sounds like Cory Brandan from Norma Jean. Regardless this prob my favorite track of this album.
+John Joyce that was my two picks. The screams sound alot like Caleb but cleans def sound like Norma
+tspinks1989 haha it's ok man
+Bogdan Kuchurivskyy now I'm kinda wishing they would do a collab with Caleb that would be sick
+John Joyce and disgusting?(:
+Carter Bond yea dude haha good look
beautiful.
will you guys upload the footnotes and stuff as usual, or not? Because I still see the footnotes in the lyrics on the screen, so...
check the description
well you have to realise that when I posted it the description was different, otherwise I wouldn't have asked, thanks for the heads up though.
Yeah, they weren't there a couple of hours ago.
