Shins, The - The Waltz Is Over Lyrics
That hue in the sky
Just a glimpse of another life
Are barley missed by some stupid collection
Life's random dominoes, if it only been more aggressive.
My friends might as well have pissed in my cup.
Cause they knew and they never spoke up.
You wanted the same as I did and I never will forgive them.
Is there something I'm failing to see
A message in the stars.
Secrets lying hidden from me
Not sure what they are, if it keeping us apart?
She had Wilson Pickett's best on 45
to my place and we were all alone.
But still neglected to mention.
Is there something I'm failing to see
A message in the stars.
Secrets lying hidden from me
Not sure where they are
Tell me am I always to be, watching from a far
Cause your image breaks my heart.
Now the waltz is over
Passed into the
Now the waltz is over
passed into the
Cause the day will finally come
When time will have rendered me numb.
Maybe then I can put it down.
Let me linger for a moment now.
Collect some details to recall
Some part of life before it all
fades into the darkness.
Is there something I'm failing to see
A message in the stars.
Secrets lying hidden from me
Not sure where they are
Tell me am I always to be, watching from a far
Cause your image breaks my heart.

Shins, The The Waltz Is Over Comments
I've listened to Port of Morrow more times than I can count and just now finding that they had B-Rolls this whole time is surreal
Wish there were chords for this somewhere
Why would you make the best songs on your album B Sides?
So this is the other B-Side. There's Pariah King then there's this..I like this one better. Where do I get it???
For a Fool and Fall of '82 are the only ones I skip over when listening.
I think the only track on the album I'm really annoyed by is Fall of '82.
I like No Way Down more than For a Fool because the music really annoys me in For a Fool it doesn't mesh well with the words. I like the Dishwater World lyric.
Anyways not as important as this point. The Shins for me are all about not having to grow to like their songs. An ideal Shins song for me strikes me as really beautiful somewhere listening to it within the first ten times. Then grows with me over time. Lasting for a long while. This and Pariah king are both exactly that. I fuckinglovethem
Crazy beautiful.
I think it would have fit perfectly in place of No Way Down, I love For a Fool and have grown to like It's Only Life too much to imagine the album without them.
I really feel like this and Pariah king could've replaced It's only life and for a fool or something and made the album better. Just maybe.
Reminds me of Pink Floyd, at least in the beginning.
So it's not available in the US?
It's the Japanese release's bonus track I believe
Seems like he's talking about not wanting to forget how he got to where he is, but he knows it's inevitable.
@9EricR It's one of the bonus tracks
this is on the album?
