caught Shawn Colvin in Concert last night at the MIM Museum in Phx.,   Amazing Show!!!

Hoping to see Shawn in Glasgow (Scotland) 21st Jan 2018 - with her band at Celtic Connections.

Sang this with my guitar in Bozeman,Mt .Shawn ride by on her bike ,got off and Listened to me ,then I sang my Van Goghs' Brush' song, and watched her ride off, shortly thereafter.

The song that started it for me with shawn colvin in 1992 and at the same time mary chapin-carpenter who is shawns friend too i discovered these talented ladies on the radio station virgin 1215 in the early nineties both theses ladies singer songwriters just so underated i love them both

That guitar of Shauns looks a bit like the O'rsa parlour of Susie Gardener, but the fretboard is different.

Has this ever been covered by a male singer? Please refrain from saying anything insulting, I just find that her music has such a resonating androgynous undertone. Especially "Sunny Came Home". Still, I agree, she's invincible in terms of her original material.

Singer-song writers usually get the short end of the stick. It's really a sickness in the music industry. The real solid talent (not to put down the others) seem to take a back seat.

They are both incredible artists in their own right. Grammys used to mean something back then. If I were an accomplished singer / songwriter today I wouldn't even go and I'd refuse their awards.

Tidbit~ The members of Devonsquare were in a Greenwich Village apartment prior to 1984, and Shawn sang this. They asked if they could record it, and Shawn gave her blessing. So, Devonsquare released this long before Shawn released it on an Lp. Such a beautiful song. Thanks Shawn for sharing such a gift!

The late 70's, full 80's, and early 90's were fine. In my opinion the early to mid 1990's was the most intellectually superior ers but incredibly flawed and that's why the overall message failed by the end of 1998 or so. 1999 was atrocious and unintelligent. The 2000's tried to repair some things that were incredibly broken but they were quickly undone after 2012. We are sort of in a downgraded culture that's nostalgic for the 1990's in the 2010's right now.

This song was actually written by members of Devonsquare - a band that hailed from the White Mountains of NH. Alana MacDonald and Tom Dean were members - I'm unclear as to who actually wrote the song. Dar Williams also recorded this song.

Herb Ludwig was the third member of Devonsquare.

I just saw Shawn perform in a very small Vermont theater in front of less than 200 people on a cold March night. What a fabulously pure voice! She sang/played an incredible adaptation of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" that revealed just another great talent of this fine artist. A tremendous evening with a wonderful musician!

Being a guy, I hate to admit this. Going thru a divorce when Fat City came out, this song kept me away from the edge. She's great...I guess that when you grow up in South Dakota, your mind fills up with images the landscape doesn't provide.
