I saw him live in Jackson, WY and wasn't big fan before then. I didn't think it was going to be all that exciting since a lot of his stuff I had heard was acoustic. I was wrong about the not exciting part..... One of the best live performances I've seen in a while :)

Goddamn! Why on earth do this man's albums not sound like his live performances?! So many musicians cannot pull off live what they manage with the help of an expensive studio and all the "help" that comes with it - Shakey seems not to manage to convey the brilliance of his live playing in his albums somehow... Anyone know where I can get my hands on live recordings of his?

I've been putting his live stuff into a website that turns youtube videos into MP3 or whatever format you use. I edit the length and take out the talking and then the good stuff is mine.  Google youtube into MP3.

Shakey has easily transitioned into my favorite (all time) musician. I listen to him literally every single day, and have been doing so for over 4 year. He is an amazing musician, and I strive to be as clean as he is with his music. I was fortunate enough to watch him live in Eugene, OR, a couple years ago, and it was the best concert I've ever been to.
Can't wait for him to return, because I will not miss an opportunity to watch him live.
