I’m glad there are so many people still listening to this song. I heard it a lot growing up and still come back to it when I need some good smooth country in my life. But does anyone know wtf it actually means? I can see 3 possible interpretations: 1. He is a guy talking to a girl who is married and just fooling around and making her feel comfortable in a way that her husband can’t. 2. It is a metaphor for drugs making people feel comfortable or giving a unique sensation regardless of what relationships the influences of drugs might be ruining in the process. 3. It is alluding to people’s idols and dreams. Having a ideal person to look up to or goal for the future, even just a happy place to ground yourself in when you need to forget about the outside world and remember your motivations. This last one seems to make most sense based on the video because each person hears the song and thinks about a band or performer they like, or they imagine themselves in those shoes, but based on the words in the song either of the other two interpretations make more sense. I love this song but sometimes I question the morality behind it if it is about drug usage or cheating on spouses. What do you guys think?
