Sepultura - Morbid Visions Lyrics

The Roman empire has crucified the messiah
The bestial power as sacrificed your Gods
Feared by this power, the cross he'll carry
And visions of destruction, this night you'll see

Crucified, killed, buried
Sacrificed messiah
Kneeled down, blood stained

The cristians, today they still cry
But the bastards adore images
Remembrances from the past, from the crucifixion
Rotting christ, nailed to cross

From the semen of the mankind
We'll spread our seed
And we'll show to the devoted
The truth, painful truth

Cry preachers
Because your Gods has forgotten
The antichrist there is to prove
Death and destruction will still reign

  6. Jean-Marie Martinez

Still a killer album decades later.

  9. Oscar Soto

  10. Putrid Abomination

The old school Sepultura albums are the best.

  13. Marcelo Mux

  14. candreel

The first track of this album is O Fortuna (Carmina Burana).

  15. candreel

Gravadora Cogumelo.

  18. Bobby V

I never could understand much of what Max was saying on this album, but then again, this was probably when he didn't speak english. This style really doesn't need lyrics though 😃

    Death-Thrash Vault

The lyrics are English but at the time he was just learning English so it is kinda of hard to understand him but his vocals on the other hand are evil as fuck \m/

    Vanguard

who cares if you can understand him or not. i wish he would have sang in his native portuguese

  19. S K G

Is that where mayhem got their name?

    Death-Thrash Vault

Mayhem was formed 2 years prior to this album and the band name themselves Mayhem after Venom's song "Mayhem With Mercy"

    R Co

I wonder how much the Norwegian Mayhem borrowed from an earlier British band also called Mayhem that formed in 1979 and had an album called Bloodrush 2 years before the Norwegian one released Deathcrush. There was also a later band from Brazil also called Mayhem but Sepultura used to be better. Now Sepultura is weird but their old stuff is still killer.

    Grishnackh

@Death-Thrash Vault But Sepultura was formed in 84.. and Mayhem was formed in 83 :D

  21. vapor dreams

Sepultura is the only band in the world I could say was part of the First Wave of Black Metal and First Wave of Death Metal movements, played Thrash Metal, was one of the pionieers of Groove Metal, and inspired the Nu Metal movement.

    Robert Garcia

No crap. Some sort of Motörhead

    Robert Garcia

@ricard modo I think you have each one of those completely backwards.

    Vex Shoemaker

It’s Thrash Metal. Not at all Black. Not even close!!!

    Korgon2013

Easy with the Nu metal references, I just ate....

    A-priori Integritate

@ricard modo _Arise_, _Beneath the Remains_, _Schizophrenia_, _Chaos AD_, and _Roots_ were all there own thing (sound like nothing else). You're oversimplifying.

  22. destro

  23. pablo Hussein

    Circus music

    A-priori Integritate

    Vex Shoemaker

...and since you said that, I will not have a “nice time”. Thanks dick.

  27. Fernando Cardoso

war remenber me maze of torment morbid angel

  28. Ronald Magee

Heavy Venom/Possessed vibe with this one.

    Death-Thrash Vault

Sepultura in the early days were heavily influenced by Venom and Possessed

    Metalpractor

Even the new song “isolation” has two vocal sections that are trimmed down versions of a new Possessed song ““Dammed”

  30. North Star

Damn this is really good except the production is a little weak . Seems heavier than all the rest . This is Max C. ? I thought he wasn't on the first 2 album's ?

    Death-Thrash Vault

Max was featured on the first two albums as the lead vocalist, the only time that I know of Max wasn't the vocalist was when the band first formed with a different vocalist and he took the role as guitarist but soon after he took over vocal duties. But Max was vocalist from late 1984 - 1996. Yeah Max's vocals is different on here because he was 17 when the album was recorded, pretty badass.

    North Star

@Death-Thrash Vault Wow I never knew he was on the first 2 albums and someone told me he started on beneath the remains . Oh well regardless there both great albums .

    Johnny Jay

First vocalist was Wagner Lamounier AKA Antichrist, who later founded Sarcofago.

    Andrew Bishop

    Max is Sepultura

    R Co

Max and Igor created the band. What we see now as Sepultura should have a different name.

  31. Glam Americano El Retorno

    Erick Isaac Gomez Garabito

    Pobre chiporro

    Diego Torres

    Las wea q comparai

  32. Steart Fires

    Slayer Hell Awaits part 2

    jprp999

To me it is closer to Sodom and Kreator.

    R Co

Brazil and Germany definitely had tons of thrash metal left and right, especially Brazil.

  33. Pc Punks Fuck Off

    The guitar tone is awful

    Mordulak

Like your taste ... and everyone knows that punk has the best tone ... Fake off

    OG Skywalker

    Who gives a fuck

    Heresy

They are young and angry, who has time to tune their guitars, just dive in head first in abyss for recording. Liked the sound, evil and menacing, its a beautiful mistake.

    angelwitchh

    @Heresy right on lmao

    David Savage

Bestial Devastation had a much better tone.

  34. lasf zeppelin

The best SEPULTURA"s album!!!!! Pura Melancolia 80era. Greetings from Mexico!!!!! Ya me suscribi CARNAL, esta CHIDO tu canal. Te apoyo WEY!!!

  35. Daniel San

The title track, War and Crucifixion appear among my 10 favorite Sepultura songs. Alongside Beneath the Remains, Morbid Visions is my favorite Sepultura release.

    Death-Thrash Vault

My favorite Sepultura and so happens to be my favorite release of all time is Arise, amazing riffs and production on that album. But anything before Chaos A.D. are at least nearly perfect IMO.

    Daniel San

@Death-Thrash Vault Indeed these dudes were insane before Chaos A.D.

    Ripoff Scoots

I agree except I would include chaos A.D. Chaos A.D was a really creative album.

    Death-Thrash Vault

    @Ripoff Scoots Chaos A.D. is a banger!

  36. The Desecrator

Definitely Sepultura's most evil sounding and their most Black metal oriented album. I just love that raw guitar tone and Max's voice, it's just so haunting. Long live Sepultura and long live the old school Sepultura albums!

    Death-Thrash Vault

Oh, definitely along with Bestial Devastation.

    ElMalvado

    Bestial Devastation as well
