I was told when I was young that my father went to heaven and this gave me such a hope. I didn't worry during my childhood and having my widow mother seemed okay to me. Of course, I missed him and my hope of seeing him again was that he is watching me in heaven. PLEASE KEEP READING. Unfortunately, my life became even more joyful once I learned in the BIBLE that when people die, they don't go to heaven. In Genesis God  gives Adam his punishment after eating the tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil, " By the sweet of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and dust you will return." Genesis 3:19 God makes it really clear hear because of this sin, when we die our body returns back to the dust in which he created us. The first part to this process is returning back to the grave. The second part to this process is mentioned in  Ecclesiastes 12:7 " and the dust returns to the ground it came from and the spirit returns to God who gave it."  The word breath and spirit have the same meaning.  According to this verse, it mentions that "the spirit returns to God who gave it." This is the same as saying, " the breath returns to God who gave it." My father's spirit was not separate from his body because him going to heaven will mean that his body and spirit are separate.  GOD's HOPE FOR US " At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth shall mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a loud trumpet and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other." Mathew 24: 30, 31 When people die, they go to HADES or GRAVE until the second coming of Jesus Christ. Heaven is not a place for sinners. If someone went to heaven and they were sinners; it would be a horrible place for them because they will be running and hiding away from God's Glory. We are sinners so that's why we can't see God, " But he said, " you can not see my face, for no one can see me and live." Exodus 33; 20  Jesus came to die for our sins so that we can have eternity. He wants us to live with him and his death was a gift for us. But not many people will choice his gift of salvation. Jesus gives us a freedom of choice- either we choice him or the Devil. And when he comes a second time because you know he was here on earth when he died for our sins and was risen to go serve as our high priest in heaven; he will come and take the righteous. But EVERY EYE WILL SEE HIM even those who pierced him ( nailed him on the cross) will see him. Death is like sleeping.
9 Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Anyone who walks in the daytime will not stumble, for they see by this world’s light. 10 It is when a person walks at night that they stumble, for they have no light.”
11 After he had said this, he went on to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.”
12 His disciples replied, “Lord, if he sleeps, he will get better.” 13 Jesus had been speaking of his death, but his disciples thought he meant natural sleep.
14 So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, 15 and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” JOHN 11
so when Jesus comes every one who died will wake up including the people who didn't choose Jesus and they will rot and
die again. But for those who chose Jesus, they will rise up and go meet HIM in the clouds. The second resurrection is only for the righteous who chose Jesus and they will go and live in heaven with Jesus as well as the angels. READ THE BOOK OF REVELATION AND MATHEW 24 . Please Pray always before you read the bible for the holy spirit to guide you because they devil is working so hard for us to misinterpret the bible.
