Seger, Bob - Ballad Of The Yellow Beret Lyrics
This is a protest against protesters:
Fearless cowards of the U.S.A.
Bravely here at home they stay
They watch their friends get shipped away
The draft dodgers of the Yellow Beret
Yellow streaks up and down their spines
Men who gladly stay behind
They won't fight for the U.S.A.
They fought hard for the yellow beret
Men who faint at the sight of blood
Their high heeled boots weren't meant for mud
The draft board will hear their sob stories today
Only the best the yellow beret
Her yellow beret has met his fate
He's been drafted for marching in a protest
Leaving her his last request
Put a yellow streak down my sons back
Make sure that he never ever fights back
At his physical have him say he's gay
Have him win the yellow beret
The yellow beret
Yeah the yellow beret

Seger, Bob Ballad Of The Yellow Beret Comments
I wonder what the percentage of Vietnam War songs got played on the radio that were for the war and how many that got played that were against.
So much for listening to a bunch of straights , they are always wrong about everything , including the Domino Theory ! When the 20-year Viet Nam War ended in 1975, Viet Nam’s economy was one of the poorest in the world , today Viet Nam is one of the stars of the emerging markets universe with economic growth of 6-7% that rivals China.
Vietnam, in fact, may actually be one of the most pro-capitalist countries on Earth. Almost all Vietnamese people — 95% of them — now support capitalism, according to the Pew Research Center, which polled nearly 45 nations late last year on economic issues. No other country in the poll cracked 90%. Even in the United States — where "socialist" can be used as an insult — only 70% agreed that a free market economy is the best kind of economy. The conflict cost roughly 2 million lives and reduced Vietnamese cities to smoking rubble. The United States dropped more bombs on the region than it did during all of World War II — all in the name of halting the spread of Soviet-backed communism across Asia. Despite the brutal effort, the United States lost and Vietnam's communists prevailed. Tune In , Turn On and always listen to pot smoking , acid headed Drop Outs.
This song as opposed to 2+2, eh Bob? Seriously lol :)
He recorded it when one of his best friends shipped off to the War, 2+2=? was the byproduct of him changing his views after his buddy was killed in Vietnam.
This is for President Bone Spurs.
I do need a whole box of tissues from laughing so hard at that rich boy crook who can't even complete one sentence. Hypocrites who bitched about National Debt while that con man carny gave 2 Trillion to Billionaires can go down there and build that phony wall. Ha ha ha ...
Hardly a parody -
@Gregory Walker -- really, what would you call it then?
+Gregory Walker, OF COURSE it's a parody!....
"A parody is a piece of writing or music that deliberately copies another work in a comic or satirical way.
Buddy - Hey did you check out that one song: "I kissed a squirrel"?
Jim - If it's the parody from "I kissed a Girl" then yes I have."
To truly understand the yellow beret, you must listen to the Green Beret first.
Yes, Idiot ..... It is exactly a parody.
Kek this song is 50+ years old and is the reason I would like to experience 4 Years. Period.
