Seekers, The - This Is My Song Lyrics

Love, this is my song
Here is a song, a serenade to you
The world cannot be wrong
If in this world there's you
I care not what the world may say
Without your love there is no day
So love, this is my song
Here is a song, a serenade to you

Why is my heart so light
Why are the stars so bright
Why is the sky so blue
Since the hour I met you

Flowers are smiling bright
Smiling for our delight
Smiling eternally
For the world, you and me

A love when I sing in moonlight
With you in my heart supreme
To hear you say "I love you"
That is my hope, my dream

So love, this is my song
Here is a song, a serenade to you
The world cannot be wrong
If in this world there's you
I care not what the world may say
Without your love there is no day
So love, this is my song
Here is a song, a serenade to you

  2. T.... H....

I wish iTunes music store would get their act together and have more of Judith’s solo songs available so I could legal download and play on my iPod. . Such a tremendous voice has she!

    I love Judith !

  7. J.... S....

It's so odd. Chaplin does this, does that, nothing spectacular. and BOOM...he does this!. Whoa. And Judith singing his song. Certainly the greatest compliment Chaplin ever got, having Judith do his song.

  8. H.... A....

I'm listening to this song in New York in 2018. I've discovered this gem only now. What a song! What a voice! I'm sorry Petula and Harry, both of you are great in your versions, but Judith is the best. The lyrics of this song requires a crystal clarity that Judith gives it.

    H.... A....

    nice joke

  9. D.... A....

Such a beautiful clear voice. This rendition is tops, with no offence to Petula who popularized this song.

  10. h.... ....

Just like James Bond - Nobody Does It Better than Judith Durham!! She is and always will be the worlds sweetheart. The voice of an angel combined with the beauty of her looks are a mainstay and will continue for ever. Thank you for posting this and thank you Judith for letting the world enjoy your talent.

  20. R.... B....

Thank you Judith for singing your songs to us and giving us such wonderful and loving memories to keep hold of when you retire from the stage.

  21. F.... R....

Pet Clarke had this song then this lady from Oz came along and blew Pet away.

    F.... R....

If memory serves me correctly Francis Rodgers, Petula Clark sang this in F Major....Judith (in this version here) sang it in Ab Major...a minor 3rd above. And even then she didn't break into a sweat!!! An amazing voice!

    F.... R....

Harry Seacombe also had this song.

  22. R.... M....

    Thanks again

  23. .... ....

    ペトゥラ・クラークの歌であまりに有名な曲ですが、シーカーズのヴォーカリスト:ジュディス・ダーハムの透明感あふれるヴォーカルも素晴らしいです。

  36. e.... ....

They're still performing and Judith's voice is still beautiful.

  37. S.... O....

Possibly the greatest song ever composed. Firstly, it's about love, the greatest power in the universe, and then, just listen to the words...

  38. B.... W....

So many gr8 voices in the 50's and 60's the Seekers were definately one of my favourites.

  39. R.... M....

    Just Wonderful:   Thanks Much.

  40. f.... ....

Judith never had an Englsh accent. Her accent has always been distinctly Australian.

  41. T.... M....

Judith, you were and you will be... ever and forever... Thank You!

  42. n.... ....

What a beautiful clear voice. This is the most beautiful rendition I have heard. (As a kid I always had the biggest crush on Judith - I had good taste - lol).

  43. B.... M....

    BEAUTIFULL VOICE.

  44. A.... L....

Judith, that crystal clear voice hitting each note with ease and subtlety. Thank you Charlie for writing such a beautiful song. It goes to show you were a man with deep feelings and compassion, not the nasty little commie your adopted country tried to make you out to be. How cruel, how wicked to a man who gave so much laughter and love to the world.

  45. J.... L....

Very well sung by Judith, nice version of the song.

  46. k.... w....

This is the best singing version of this song.

    k.... w....

    @chrisregpick klo

    Louise. /môrrissey

    k.... w....

If you EVER detect a cute English accent let us know. She is Australian!

    k.... w....

    Thanks for your kind thoughts.

    k.... w....

I agree. Just listened to it again, still not awake.

    k.... w....

They may have been comparing her to a British singer who also covered this song.

  47. d.... ....

Thanks again for this Wonderful Treat.

  48. J.... M....

    Gosto muito!

  49. M.... C....

    Preciosa versión.

  50. R.... M....

    ... Wow  ! ... written  by  Charlie  Chaplin  ...  Great  Info  :)

    R.... M....

Charlie Chaplin also composed "Smile" performed by Nat King Cole & later by Michael Jackson.  He also composed "Eternally (Terry's Theme from Limelight)" which won the 1973 Academy (Oscar) for best original score.

  51. M.... S....

Judith Durham has a fascinating voice that can bring out the best in any song she sings.

  52. h.... ....

    Beautiful version

  53. d.... ....

Thanks again for this wonderful Treat Judith.

  54. B.... B....

Thanks Love, that's the Aussie spirit!

  55. W.... M....

I LOVE PET CLARK BUT JUDITH IS IN A LEAGUE OF HER OWN !

  58. d.... ....

Judith:   Always a treat for my Brain.

  59. a.... h....

SINGING wise i'm talking about my friend.

  60. a.... h....

harry secombe and pet clarke owned this song, THEN, along came judith and blew them away.

    a.... h....

+John Peel Spike Milligan was born in India. Google it...

    a.... h....

Born in India but settled in Woy Woy NSW

    a.... h....

@footscorn Lived in the UK. He had nothing to do with Australia.

    a.... h....

Spike Milligan's parents and younger brother migrated to Australia in the 50's and lived in Woy Woy.

    a.... h....

Pet Clarke owns this song. Judith has a terrific voice, Petula had the better voice in my opinion for this tune. It's a soft song and Judith is a bit too strong.

  61. D.... M....

    Simply wonderful - thank you.

  62. g.... g....

Back again for some of the best of the best. May you sing forever Judith. Fabulous music your entire life. Like I said before, God put you on earth to do one thing "Sing"

  63. d.... ....

    Judith, Once Again.

    Thanks.

  64. S.... K....

What year Judith sang this song?

  65. S.... K....

Charlie Chaplin was indeed a genius, and the beautiful Judith with her gorgeous voice did so much justice for his song. This song bring so much wonderful memories from my teen years. Thank you for posting here.

  66. d.... ....

    Back for more Judith.

    Thanks.

  67. A.... B....

    I Love this Song......

  68. d.... ....

Judith: A wonderful gift from Mother Nature.

    Thanks for posting.

  69. S.... H....

I love Judith Durham! She is just lovely. I loved her interviews here on You Tube...what a sweet lady...a true lady. Thank you Judith for the beautiful music with "The Seekers" and with your solo work. You will always be one in a million.

  70. d.... ....

Back for more Wonderful Judith. One of my Favorites.

    Thanks.

  71. d.... ....

Judith and Vera Lynn are both Angels.

    Thanks for posting.

  72. h.... ....

Thanks for the comments. You are so right. I swear by the song Smile. Life is always worthwhile. Hope always beats despair. A wise man was Charles Chaplin. He was for all people in all times and places. The current age is too cynical but it's passing. Chaplin will make us laugh and cry again, once we get back on nodding terms with our essential humanity.

  73. d.... ....

    Back again.

    Thanks again.

  74. N.... ....

Dear hardyfh1 Charlie Chaplin gave so much, and what insight also. Good to see another person in this day and age, so get Chaplin! Ah do love Judith and Petula, among others.

  75. d.... ....

    Judith is Just Wonderful.

    Thanks for posting.

  76. d.... ....

    Judith Get Well Soon.

    Thanks again.

  77. d.... ....

    Wonderful Judith.

    Thanks again.

  78. d.... ....

Hello HowDareThey1970, Yes, I listen to Vera Lynn every day. She is just wonderful also.
Thanks for Posting. Love your music postings.

  79. H.... ....

    How about Vera Lynn?

  80. d.... ....

    Back for More Judith.

    Thanks.

  81. d.... ....

Judith is Just Wonderful. Its too bad I had to be 78 years old before I discovered her.

    Thanks for Posting

  82. E.... B....

This is music..not the CRAP we have today.

    E.... B....

CRAP... with reference to Ernests comment above... acronym for Cant Recommend A Purchase

  83. F.... J....

Truly a beautiful rendering by Judith Durham of a lovely Charlie Chaplin song

  84. g.... g....

Fabulous, beautiful voice, by who I call one of the best singers in the world ever. Even later in age, her voice don't miss a beat. Judith Durham was put on this earth by God to do one thing "Sing"!!!!!!!!

  85. F.... J....

The song actually comes from The Countess of Hong Kong, not Limelight. I rather think you might tbe conusing this song with Eternally, similar but not quite

  86. F.... J....

I don't think so, it actually comes from the Countess of Hong Kong. You are thinking of Eternally, thatis also a favourite of mine

  87. R.... E....

    Lovely....

  88. G.... ....

Yep Charles, The only other one to add would be Karen Carpenter.. When I think of the great voices that surround the throne in heaven, I can hardly wait for the choir.

  89. R.... H....

I agree Charles, great idea to put the three together......how about throwing in Beverly Bivens of We Five? If you're not familiar with her, We Five did "You Were on My Mind" in the sixties. They did two albums then Bev quit singing altogether. They do "Cast Your Fate to the Wind" superbly,"Somewhere Beyond the Sea" the Bobby Darin song, better than he did it. " "I Can Never go Back Home again is excellent too.So many many great songs and groups back then. I feel sorry for the kids today.

  90. C.... W....

I would have loved (in the day) to hear a trio of Judith Durhan, Cass Elliot(may she Rest in Peace) and Grace Slick singing. Barring a clash of egos, That would have been breath-taking. Three such beautiful, and powerful vioces harmonizing.

  91. C.... W....

THIS is what MUSIC sounds like.

  92. S.... M....

Judith is the sweetness in the song...she's very moving...I would enjoy reading about her life...has she or someone else written a book?

  93. T.... H....

Wow, I have never heard her sing this song before. She did her usual wonderful job here.....Terry

  94. b.... ....

written by a star of silent movies, now theres an irony
