@anglekan I understand, I agree with you in that is an illusion. It makes you think the world is good but in reality the world is cruel- humans are. But if we keep telling everyone that needs help to shut up and get out of the internet, then they won't have anywhere to go- neither internet or reality, because both are bad. Not every person has the same mental ability to handle difficult situations, I believe you do and I also do. But there are some people that don't, so I want to help as much as possible. That's my insight on this.

I chose my career at 15, I dedicated huge effort and still do at 31 years old. I’ve been doing it professionally for 10 years and had the pleasure of working with some very respectable companies. A part of me loves what I do, however equally is a part of me that suffers and resents it massively. The reason for this resentment is due to the fact that my line of work is very very very tough to actually find employment. Once you find it great, if not be prepared to hang in there. Since starting my career I lost my job twice, the first time took me two years to get back into it again, then the second time only happened 8 months ago, to make matters worse this was a dream job with great people for a great company, I honestly loved it. However now - I still am not in full time employment, instead I’m dealing with shitty rude members of the public picking up falling clothes on the floor at a clothing store on a zero contract hour job. So at 31 years old with my career is in bits, I’ve chose to turn my back on it and change into something else. I’ll be honest, this fuel driving this change is mostly anger, resentment and deep deep disappointment. however it’s “energy”. And I would rather have the energy to change than to feel sorry for myself and not do anything.

A word of advice, don’t pick a career that’s means you narrow your choice of companies to work for. For example most companies need a sales team, marketing, graphic designers etc. These careers have so much scope, and far easier to find employment. The truth is, most companies don’t need a horse whisperer, stone Masson or a star sign reader, so don’t pick these careers as your main income, instead do those ones as hobbies until you are able to make a living from it. You want to pick something which is and will be in demand, make sure it pays well and lastly make sure you enjoy it. If you enjoy it your twice as likely to be good at it. Don’t put your focus on what purely pays well, this is still important, but what the important take away here is - do something which makes you a VALUABLE person in society. If you offer a service which only is helpful to a handful of people, expect small returns. If your service can help a large number of people - your life will be easier

I feel so stuck, i finished university with a great degree in business and ended up in accounting for a few years, preparing financial statements for multi million dollar entities and communicating with stakeholders including the tax office and security investment commissions. After a couple years in that, it wasn't fulfilling at all and was forced to see a psychologist with severe depression and horrible anxiety, i quit my job although i was good at it and had received several promotions. I then went back to university and studied medicine and thought perhaps being a doctor would give me greater fulfillment. What could be more gratifying and meaningful than saving someones life right? So i studied medicine for half a year and left that because i felt it just wasn't really who i am, the journey would be long and there is no guarantee i'd make it as a doctor, i wasn't comfortable with the loss of time and risk. Feeling even more frustrated at myself, i contemplated doing a masters human resources because its somewhat of a mix between business and caring for people. But that was short lived and i'm now back to working as an accountant on a casual basis instead. I can't seem to find a new path no matter how hard i try and i feel like there is no hope. Any advice please???

I went to YouTube i wrote in the search i feel so low in everything and i found this video "if you feel lost" yeah im lost in everything when someone is talking to me i feel like i can't focus on what he's saying at college i feel like i don't understand anything i feel i was asleep and i woke up that the doctor says stuff that everyone understands but i don't, i always felt shy and afraid to ask so no one laugh at me or the doctor make fun of me im just lost i failed in everything and i lost so many precious things and im losing more and more, im good at stuff but those stuff can't be done in this world i always was good in some stuff but those i just can't create something big from it that i can be famous from i just don't know who i am anymore or from where i should start im just lost.

Are you happy with where you are now, and will you be happy with where you think you will be in 5-10 years... What do you do if you don't know, what if you don't know if you're happy or if you don't know if you think you'll be happy or happier in the future. I'm not unhappy, but I'm not motivated either. As more time passes I become more unsure, I keep pushing forward but what am I doing it for. I never have an answer for the important questions and I honestly don't know what I can do to change it, so I just keep pushing forward.

Thandiswa Maqolwana think about any relationships in your life. You probably fall into a certain way of acting around certain people. You probably act differently around your parents or boss then you do around close friends. If you have kids, you know they look up to you as an authority figure and someone who can guide them...so you’ll probably act more mature and responsible because of that position.
You know people think of you in a certain way, a way you’re used to acting around them...so you probably just fall into that “role” around them automatically. So, in a sense, even though you think of your personality and self as this fixed entity...it’s really rather fluid based on the different social interactions and circumstances you find yourself in.

Ignore those voices, you are worth fighting for. You are special and unique and loved. Sometimes we get into ruts and see no way out but it is temporary. Look beyond now and start planning how you can start to improve things slowly with tiny steps.

I'm here because I feel confused, I studied Engineering for 5years because all my siblings are engineers, everybody think and expect i also be an engineer and now my brother offer me to review for board exam and his going to pay for everything. I meet many successful engineers but why I feel unexcited to be like that, I feel something is still missing, If engineering is really my calling why I feel lost?
