Seekers, The - Come The Day Lyrics
I know that one day soon a song shall rise;
You'll hear it with the sleep still in your eyes
You'll waken to a brand new day
Can you hear bells ringin'
Voices singin'
A time when every man will be as one
A time to reach right out and touch the sun
Come the day
Freedom's still a thought within your mind
The fleeting thing that some may never find
It may be still a million miles away
Can you hear bells ringin'
Voices singin'
Far away?
A time to live without doubt or fear
Welcome to the happy world that will be here
Come the day
The trumpets of war will cease to blow
The sound I hope that we may never know
We're waiting for the day
Can you hear bells ringin'
Voices singin'
Far away?
Lift up your voices and sing this song
Let the whole world hear it loud and strong
Can you hear bells ringin'
Voices singin'
Far away?

Seekers, The Come The Day Comments
Reminded me of Peter, Paul and Mary. What amazing talent and sound!
A Giant at 5' 2" transcends others with clarity, pitch and tone. Gosh they were so good and surprisingly still are.
Judith: Your angelic voice does now still and forever will echo down the doleful corridors of my heart. Your smile and presence are warming against a grizzled world. As I told Ann Murray, ""How tearfully bitter that time is unrepentant.""
I’m from Perth Western Australia!
In 1963 there was Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson and Cassius Clay! President Kennedy, Polly Farmer and the Seekers!
Beautiful!
There is a comfortable feeling just looking at Judith
Lovely clear voice. Haven’t come across another as good. The Seekers certainly the best. Thanks for the many years of your music.🏴🇬🇧🥰
fangtastic
Nashville?
Unimaginably underrated...Who does anything like this now?
GREATEST GROUP EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! Judith is the best!!!!!!!!!
Thanks rich963 for posting this awesome group hearing them is a blessing to myself and others Thanks again
Saw the Seekers twice on their last ever tour of England, including the last concert at the Royal Albert Hall, magnificent!
This was the opening song -truly was AMAZING EXPERIENCE!
Judiths little signature head bop at the end of these faster tunes gets me everytime.... shes so cute.
May not be the greatest song penned by Woodley, but it's definitely in the top 2.
Judith Durham has such a pure voice. Truly unique. Thanks for sharing.
The Seekers are amazing! I never tire of hearing them sing!
These commies really did know how to put up a show...a really good show...
Richard, I just listened to this with a good pair of headphones. Outstanding work! You nailed it!
one of my many favorites from Judith and the boys ....
what a frekkkin great totally underrated band.... really special , thanks rich!
Underrated? By whom?
How many other female singers who wore floor-length dresses can you name
Dusty Springfield
I ask myself if after 1968 Judith never became interested on singing-acting in musicals in the East End of London( for Andrew Lloyd Weber productions, for instance). She is such a talented singer. By the way she also never covered songs from such musicals, only The Sound of Music as far as I know. It is a pity.
Judith sang 'Climb Every Mountain ' from the Sound Of Music and the last note is AMAZING!!!!!!
Judith and her voice can only be described as gifts from God.
Really nice song... that stunning voice.
Her voice makes my hair stand on end.
Her Gorgeous voice
U do a good job rich when it come to the seekers
Thanks Donna...
U don’t get singers like this anymore
Love this song
This is real talent! No need to be like Miley Cyrus or many other young “singers” compensating lack of talent with nudity, low cuts, tongue sticking, bumping, grinding, piercing and falsies all over the place LOL. Judith has one in a million voices and she was always decent and proper in her attire, language and behavior in and off stage. A what a lady!!
Thank you Diane.Nice to know there’s still people around who recognizes true talent and amazing professionalism. Personally, i’m glad I’m from the old days where pioneers of music delighted us with their talent.
Lovely to hear back from you Martha. I have loved beautiful music for a long time. I was a teen in the sixties, but I did like those sounds, and as I say, I do sing some sixties songs. But Judith's voice was inimitable. Long may these wonderful memories live. All the best to you. xx
You two ladies are remarkable, couldn't agree more.
@mark disley Kind comments Mark - thank you very much (I presume you are "speaking" to Martha and myself - at least I hope so!). There is most obviously a group of us who appreciate culture, talent and all the other attributes. Lovely to hear from you. Take care and have a good day.
Genuine talent, truly professional and quite a rarity in today's pop radio industry. Thank you, Judith and fellow Seekers! YOU HAVE REAL CLASS!! From a fan of yours growing up in the sixties and still in love with your wonderful music!!!!!!
Love the voice!!!
Still holds up
Yes, the years have been good to her; love her more than ever. SHINE ON, JUDITH!!!
Mono.. Stereo... or wooly, headphones or without, Judith is always earcandy to me!
tempbill. That's a lovely way to put it!
@Diane Shepherd thanks Diane.. have a nice weekend..
Hermosa Cancion
Rich, this has great sound and is of particular value to potential new Seekers fans. Personally, I am looking forward to hearing the original audio, as you mention. Is there any chance it will have all seven songs they performed, and not just Come the Day, Morningtown, Carnival and Georgy Girl, as has been available before? This performance of "Come the Day" is exhibit A for the wonderful ability of this group in live performance. Judging from other sixties videos, there were very few groups that could come anywhere close to this kind of vocal sound live (and yes, I know there are many exciting electric guitar live recordings). Judith's amazing voice and perfect pitch really carry the song.
Thanks Jeff - yes I do plan to feature all 7 songs in the upcoming project 😊
thanks for that tip Rich..glorious Judith and the boys
Magnifique
Pascal Duboc. Je suis d'accord. Vous appreciez des bonnes chanteuses/chanteurs. (Pardonnez mon francais, je suis anglaise).
Great job Rich, Rog
Thank you again Rich, the sound really is amazing on this one. I love this track.
Great matching of the stereo to this video footage Richard
Thanks Jacob!
Amazing!
Superb!
very beautiful ...bravo !
ABSOLUTELY. Another good "thing" (Judith et al) to come out of beautiful Oz.
Excellent work Rich!! Tiger.
Thanks Tiger!
👏👏👏
Thanks Rich, one of my favourite Seekers songs. Glad to read of your upcoming project re the live audio. Look forward to that!
Hi Rich, Great mix and video! Judith has such a presence - her voice is more powerful than the whole orchestra !! Tom K.
As usual you did a great job. Thanks.
Thanks Donna...
A most wonderful beautiful voice..
I agree, but what's with the 10 thumbs down?
@Bob G Maybe they're Arms manufacturers.
