The name of the album is Punk Goes Pop. It's literally right there in the title for you. How can you possibly complain about it sounding too "pop" when that's LITERALLY THE NAME OF THE ALBUM.

So no one is going to address the intro to Wendy Clear after the lyrics mention Blink 182?

This song is great but I really wished they had a female singer do guest vocals on this. I mean to have both singers do both there Chainsmokers part and Hasleys part is stupid I mean they could have had Jenna from Tonight Alive or someone else do Hasleys part.

I honestly think some of these covers are better than the original.

In comparison with the covers of these songs that already existed before pgp7, this album was terrible. They would've been better off just scouring YouTube and getting the covers from the independent bands that already did them.

Uses to LOVE Punk goes Pop but this one just sucks. Same as the original songs, just with a guitar and different singer.

This has been the worst punk goes album to date. It doesent feel like the band's have done their own takes on each song. The whole album sounds very amateur. After years of loving this series of albums, I'm officially giving up. Punk goes is dead.

punk goes punk is an album of covers of pop songs, you can't call an album shit when this years pop songs have been absolutely horrendous. it's a hell of a lot better than the originals.

I feel like this would've been way more dynamic with a band who has a more intense sound, like a metalcore band. I was waiting for a scream. This song was pretty over played when it came out that it would've been insane to hear something other than pop punk for this one.

Who said that the bands were supposed to make the pop songs sound more like metal.? The point of this is for bands to try out pop songs. It's punk goes pop which means them sounding more like pop. It's not pop goes punk .

Wow. I can barely tell the difference between this, and the pop song they are supposedly making into "Punk." The same thing goes for TPIY and Let It Go. I honestly thought the accidentally up loaded the original by mistake. Not that I have anything against softer rock music. But at least half the songs on this album are just copies of the pop songs they are covering. It seems like Punk Goes Pop has forgotten what it was made for in the first place. To take a pop song and CHANGE it.

God! so many unappreciative brats, they sounds awesome and did this all for u guys and put a lot of work into it, so show some respect

Half the bands didn't even attempt to try and redo the songs in their own way they sound like exact replicas of the original so saying "they put a lot of work into making this album" is a total understatement. The only bands and artists that even attempted at making the song different were Dance Gavin Dance, New Years Day, The Amity Affliction, Grayscale (cuz they actually put the song into their own style which how a cover should be done in the first place), Andy Black (Ft. Juliet Simms), Capsize, and ICE NINE KILLS. All the rest of the bands did absolutely nothing to change the song whatsoever. Very disappointed in this Punk Goes Pop album, I mean why am I gonna spend 20 bucks on a compilation album if only five or six songs on it are good. Waste of money gad I didn't buy it when I did. Maybe on PGP8 they'll bring back older bands like Motionless In White, Of Mice & Men, The Ready Set, August Burns Red, ISSUES, Crown The Empire, maybe even put new bands that were never on one of these albums like Thy Art Is Murder, Attila, Waterparks, Story Untold, and Underoath.

This isn't their sound on their albums. This is a much more dumbed down version of their sound, their usually much for energetic and shouty. This was them playing it safe imo.

every time i hear the original on the radio I always imagined in my head this would sound in a PGP album with growling verses and bridges and a screaming chorus but nope!!!!!.... it sounds more like a love ballad

the reason for the lack of quality on this new album is that they dont have a lot of good material to work with. Hits of today and last year suck way harder than they did just 3 or 4 years ago when 2 3 and 4 came out. Covers of sucky songs make for sucky covers. Todays hottest songs are way to digital and repetitive to easily put punk/metalcore spin on. I like all music, even pop, but i havent been able to listen to pop music for a while because its staler than a 5 day old, half smoked cigarette.

Having said that there are good modern choices for this but Closer, When We Were Young, etc. are not.

Just my humble opinion here...but since the rise of pop punk/metal youtubers - I feel like these albums have become irrelevant. I'd much rather vibe to Fame On Fire or Our Last Night
