@Damien Patton Oh yes, I noticed; and if I would pull one redeeming quality of the song it would be those ethereal strings and their close association with that song. Even then they are almost buried by the pondering guitar and crooner voice of the singer. Truly a testament to Thom Yorke's and companies ability to find inspiration from unlikely sources. That he (or they) heard this song and were able to pull the strings from that is amazing. But if I take the premise of the show, to have only but a few songs to accompany me on a remote and isolated island, this would not be it. Would be a punishment, a certain hell if this was all I had. I would take Radioheads reinterpretation in "How to Disappear Completely" over this any day. Otherwise I would build a boat and take my chances with Wilson and the ocean rather than listen to this drivel another day.

When I listen to this, I imagine scott walker sitting in a first class train car in the 1940s, somewhere in Central Europe, as he watches Nazis arrest various partisans and other "undesirables" as they attempt to flee the country.
