Listening to Scott Walker is supremely satisfying. This track is so cool... He just knows the best combination of words to string together that just sound so _good_, even if they don't even make sense. 

Near as I can tell from his public statements - and other people’s interpretive work - it’s about Christ abandoning his post on the cross so that the cast of Big Brother season 5 (UK) can inherit it.
...Yeah, saying that out loud, it’s kind of apparent why most of his songs’ premises don’t jump out at people on first listen.

I am happy he does Silas, we have already enough of bloody pop (artists) haven´t we. This music is like the kitchen where you try new recepts, without this, music would die, if no new impulses come in.

Well, even mentioning this in the same breath as metal seems pointless -- it's like comparing a children's book to Ulysses. Metal, bless it, possibly has a place somewhere (mmm, maybe located in the developing, barely pubescent minds of young lads). Scott's oeuvre could be called vacant-garde art music, or modernist musical theatre.

Simon Mclennan If you read up on, and then listen to, the band Deathspell Omega, I hope your mind change a little. The album Kenose may be a good place to start. In terms of compositional and conceptual depth/unity, plus their artwork and lyrics, I don't think any other metal band has come close. Just my opinion though.

It makes you wonder just how legitimately disturbed Scott Walker is to make something like this, especially after having success as a pop artist.  He could sit in an empty room with Michael Gira and scare him.

And yet, they're apparently both very nice people with strong senses of humor. Both of them seem to resent instances when they're pigeonholed as unfathomably dark. Even then, I quaked when I met Gira, and probably would too if I met Scott. They're certainly fearsome giants, in one way or another.

Gira is warm beyond reason. He's always so approachable and thankful for your support as a fan. 

Contrast that with the 12 seconds I spent with Nick Cave. He seems to have had his fill of human interaction for one lifetime.

this fucker is amazing... pushing boundaries of what is music and what is noise..in a creative mind expanding way...not like metal bands that just thrash for the sake of thrashing !

How creepy this album is. Scott makes you swallow all kinds of horrors. To listen if you dare! ;) (and if you're not depressive!)
