Scott McKenzie - Dear Sister Lyrics
Dear sister
I sing this letter to you
Hear it
Listen to me say
That this stone around my neck
And each turn takes me another mile away
And it won't tell me where I'm going
And it won't tell me where I've been
It won't tell me if I'll ever
Get back to you again
Won't you settle for this necklace
Strung from highways
Wear it
Listen to me say
Won't stop burning, no
And until the flame is out
I can never stay
And it won't tell me where I'm going
And it won't tell me where I've been
And it won't tell me if I'll ever
Get back to you again
And it's always just the same
I go the door again
Keep moving
When the light starts growing dim
I've got to reach up
Quarter-rim of a beginning
But someday, somewhere
When these bitter days are over
Then the stories of my streets
Can cease their tellings

Scott McKenzie Dear Sister Comments
Great singer and this album has long been a personal favourite! I was 18 and received it as a Christmas gift in 1970. The following year I acquired Gene Clark's White Light. Both albums were on that lovely thick vinyl that A&M Records used to put out...Ah, happy days!
Is there someone who can transcribe the lyrics of this song?
Dear sister - Scott Mckenzie
Dear sister, I sing this letter to you
Hear it, listen to me say
that the stone around my neck won't stop turning, no...
And each turn takes me another mile away.
And it won't tell me where im going.
And it won't tell me where I been.
And it won't tell me if I ever
get back to you again...
Won't you settle for this neackless
strong from highway.
Wear it, listen to me say,
that this fire behind my eyes
Wont stop burning, no...
And until the flame is out,
I can't never stay.
And it won't tell me where im going.
And it won't tell me where I been.
And it won't tell me if I ever
get back to you again.
And it's always just the same
I go through the door again and get to you,
when the lights starts growing them
I gotta reach up for the ring
above again.
But someday, somewhere
when this bitter days are over
then the stories of my streets
can cease the turn.
(Sorry if some words are wrong, I tried to pay attention to the song as much as I could, but I hope it helps you :) )
