Saxon - Redline Lyrics

Hey baby, why don't ya come and ride with me
Like a bullet I'm the fastest thing you've ever seen
Hey mamma can you hear the monster scream
Feel the power riding in my mean machine

Just me and my machine out on the highway
Just me and my machine I'll take you tonight
To the redline

Like lighting it's the only way I get my fun
Don't stop me I gotta let my motor run
Sensation running up and down my spine
Celebration streaking past the winning line

Just me and my machine out on the highway
Just me and my machine I'll take you tonight
To the redline

Hey baby, why don't ya come and ride with me
Like a bullet I'm the fastest thing you've ever seen
Hey mamma can you hear the monster scream
Feel the power riding in my mean machine

Just me and my machine out on the highway
Just me and my machine I'll take you tonight
To the redline

To the redline
I'll take ya tonight
To the redline
Redline

Great song. I've played it too in one of my earlier bands.

Asked mamma for money to buy a radio cassette player. Landed one of those heavy reel-to-reel things. Redline was played with vengeance through its massive solid-oak speakers. Sorry mamma, no radio for you this time. Anxiety of teenage in 1984.

"I once had 16 Saxon albums. Redline is by far their brightest, most imaginative song."

I've never heard this in such good quality. I bought the vinyl at a second hand record store. then I was in a thrift store and found a recorded tape with the power and the glory written on it. I couldn't believe it.

This guitar riff is exactly the same as Montrose in their song titled "I Don't Want It."

Saxon are THE BEST! I love them! Personally I call this real early power metal/NWOBHM very true form. Iron Maiden are not my favorite band they aren't even close to Saxon, but a lot of people love them I think they're good and sometimes friggin awesome, but not all their records are as good as some of their best. Piece Of Mind is particularly good so is Somewhere In Time, Number Of The Beast, a lot of them are good. They're a good band sure, but Saxon are my favourite band for metal. Biff is the best singer and so is Sean Harris of Diamond Head! Saxon and Diamond Head and UFO that's sacred to me. Heavy metal is going through tough times outside of Europe now let's hope there's a new revival of the old school stuff. If someone else doesn't do it soon I WILL! ROCK ON!
