Sawyer wrote this song at 17! This guy is so talented, deep, artistic, & emotional in every song he sings that he's amazing! I just read the book "The magic strings of Frankie Presto" great book! Sawyer is our Frankie Presto!

Actually, the song was written during the summer of 2015 when Sawyer was just 16. Also, all of the songs on his current LP, A Good Storm, were written from age 14 to 16. Sawyer is like Presto only in terms of talent and determination.

I just finished the book too thanks to this song leading me there. Sawyer is our REAL Frankie Presto! May he live long and prosper.

This song title is not in the book. After Albom wrote the book and was putting together songs for the companion album he decided he wanted a love theme for Frankie and Aurora and talked to Sawyer and his mom about the project. Sawyer already had a song in the works that was played for Albom and he loved it. Sawyer and his co-writers then tweaked the lyrics to better fit the Presto story.

Have to admit I never expected anything from the boy after The Voice but, holy shit, this is incredibly good.

He most definitely will surprise people!!! Sawyer said in an recent interview (I forget where) that the label is actually trying to establish him as a new artist, outside of his Voice fame. Which is something they've never done with previous winners. But I think they know he's different and that he can really make it big. I think his mom even said the label wasn't going to put this song on his full length album because they wanted it to be considered for a Grammy, and something about the rules stipulated that it could only appear on the soundtrack. So cool to know that the label truly believes in him :)

No problem!!! Can't be sure it's 100% accurate but I do believe Kirsten said that somewhere in an interview and I remember fans talking about it on twitter. Plus, (you may already know this), more recently, Mitch Albom said that if the book ever became a movie he'd want Sawyer "all over" the soundtrack- his words :)

+PhiphthVyoo Correction, I believe it was Oscar, not Grammy like I said in my old post. If the novel becomes a movie (like many of Mitch's novels do)  this song could be on the soundtrack and eligible for an Oscar.

You can go to goodreads.com and read the description of the book, along with reviews from people who received a pre-published copy for review. The music on the soundtrack is representative of the 40's, 50's and 60's. This song is suppose to represent a love song of that era, which it does beautifully! I think it's incredible that a 16 year old today, could co-write and perform this beautiful, nostalgic song so flawlessly. Way to go (again) Sawyer.
