Savatage - Man In The Mirror Lyrics
There's a man that I used to know
And sometimes he still visits with me
When it's late and the alcohol's glow
Is nearly gone
And it's time to awaken
And he looks and he laughs at the sight
And he asks what has happened to me
And I blame it all on the lights
But he smiles and says I'm mistaken
And there is no use in disguising
What the eye can so clearly see
That I've spent my whole life denying
That the man in the mirror is me
Give me one final dance
Give me one magic line
Take a minute off my time
Give me one final bow
If the moment allows
While he stares at the scars
Saying just who you are
Just who you are
Just who you are
In a child like illusion of life
He imagined the things yet to be
But they all disappeared on this night
Carry on among the foresaken
For there is no use in denying
What the eye can so clearly see
That one day I too will be dying
And the man in the mirror agrees
Give me one second chance
Give me one final dance
Give me one magic line
Take a minute off my time
Give me one final bow
If the moment allows
While he stares at the scars
Saying just who you are
Just who you are
Just who you are
Just who you...

Savatage not just rock band their music has a philosophy Thanks a lot to them
Throughout the years savatage have adopted many different sounds and characters...every album is different but still energetic and beautiful...such a great band! Not dissappointed that their chapter is over...they ve contributed a lot to the music community and their music will be preserved by all the loyal fans out there
One of the most underrated band, song, composers, lyricists of rock... this is a masterpiece and this band for some reason never made it to where it deserved. Even in their darkest hour their music was magnificent, thank you... "tonight he grins again"
Savatage are the All Time best <3
Im pushing 40 now, and Id love to meet my youthful optimistic joyful 20 yr old self : and I say to him after a few too many beers:"There's a man that I used to know, and late at night he still visits with me. but only when it's late and within the alcohol's glow, it's then he awakens'" and the 20 yr old me looks at me and laughs at the sight, and he asks what has happened to me "and I blame it all on the beer and the lies." but he smiles and says im mistaken.
Savage!!!
Savatage 4 ever.
I remember when they played this live at the Chance here in Poughkeepsie, NY in 2001. I could not move my neck for 8 days, and I think my shirt is still wet today LoL
I was there for that show. Fantastic. I wasn't crazy about Zacs replacement. But the show was phenomenal!
(as most 40 year olds would react when confronted by their 20 year old much younger fresher and more positive life loving selves) There's a man that I used to know. Late at night he still visits with me. And he looks and laugh at the sight. He asks what has happened to me. ...And I blame it all on the lights.... But he smiles and he says I'm mistaken.
another great song by a criminally underrated band
