I have been in the exact same situation. The first relationship ever in my life, it almost stayed on for 2 years. At first I liked him cuz he was so nice to me and I saw how much control I had over him. By time, I saw myself “faking it” with literally everything. I started having weird panic attacks, bad gut feelings, bad thoughts and guilt. Until only a month ago, I realized that he is an ACTUAL but h and I had no idea, he was ruining my relationships with my friends behind my back and ruining their lives cuz he’s super possessive, and toxic in so many ways. He gave me alot if issues, I didn’t cry for our break, not even once!! But instead, I got so angry, ambushed at my self, my decisions, me being super naïve! And now I truly have issues with myself and relationships in general, trust issues with everything and everyone and I completely lost it. So if any of you ever had a bad gut feeling...run

I've been in such a situation, i fell out of love when he was falling deeper.. he did a lot to me that he made it too hard for me to break his heart..
I pretended like nothing s happening and told myself that i must be happy with him cuz he's just too nice to me and loves me the most, but i couldn't fake it for too long.. you know how it feels to kiss someone u don't love?? When he touches you and you have to act like you re enjoying it ?!! When says i love you but you can't say it back cuz you feel guilty ??
but at the end i did break it...
And knew that i was just making it worse by letting him falling more,
I did what i thought was better but trust me i cried more than he did.. and untill now i still feel like a bitch and m so affraid to get in an other relationship and hurting an other guy

Speaking as someone on the other side of a similar situation they probably knew on some level but refused to accept it all the same. I know I wanted to believe that it was all my imagination but deep down I knew something was wrong/off but kept it in the back of my mind till it blew up.



Can't really say my heart was broken was more akin to a slow tear and when it finally snapped in half it was half relief and and hurt. I still keep in contact with her albeit our relationship is nowhere near the same as it was before I felt it wasn't right to push her away because I still loved her even if I wasn't meant to. My only wish is that she is happy and healthy some days are rougher than others every little thing reminds me of her but all the same I wish for her happiness.


Point being I think it was a mistake to let it go on for longer than necessary that part I agree on but I also don't think they would want you to beat yourself up over it, we're all human in the end and mistakes are what makes us grow

An yeah at some points i know that he was aware of the situation.. but he thought that i was only having a bad time and when i told him i wanna break up he thought my parents forced le and said that he's ready to convince them.. so it was hard for him to believe the real reason

I was on the opposite side of this story i.e he fell out of love and let me tell you frankly and I mean it if you are falling out of love then the other person always gets signs about it.. I got it but fooled myself that he just needs more space but when he told me that he couldnt feel the same for me....even if it was freaking hard initially,I was and still am really greatful for the fact thay he told me about his feelings...the reason I am telling you this is....dont feel the guilt.. if you hadnt told your partner then it would'hv been cheating on you and your partner both....so its good that you told your partner and got out of a situation where both of you could get suffocated....
