So when I'm asked to list my favorite bands (and yes, this actually happened on a job interview)... I actually debated whether or not I wanted to be honest. I followed my heart, Sarah Brightman and Enigma. On the follow up(of course I got the job) they asked, who are these two bands you listed. I spent the next hour playing songs from both. This was one of them but the least of the favorite of them (though awesome!).

I love the juxtaposition of the innocent music/melody and the erotic lyrics in this original version ... and, of course, Sarah's voice and harmonies!!  Frank Peterson and Sarah Brightman wrote the lyrics; I'm not sure why others had to change them as if they were X-rated and needed to be censored.  Thanks for posting the original!

I couldn't agree more with you.  I've been listening to her almost every day since I "discovered" her by accident in 1998.  I was searching for Andrea Bocelli singing any song when I landed on Time to Say Goodbye.  I was hooked the moment she let out her first note.  Nella Fantasia is now my cell phone ringtone, and Lasha is my alarm clock ringtone.  In fact when it went off this morning, my wife said for the first time ever, It's a beautiful way to wake up.

You can say that Gregorian was inspired by enigma because the guy who created the group originally worked with enigma. Anyway , the first album is is the only album that is similiar to enigma since the later works are true to their name - gregorian chants.
