There's something that changed in Anthony's voice. It became matured but still high pitched. Maybe it became huskier. Moreover, it's great though

It's weird how some of the members in that band have come and gone, but this one was not in there best interest.

Yes...I believe that Justin and Anthony are equals in their contribution to what makes Saosin's uniquely successful sound. We lost Anthony and were lucky to find a close enough clone(who unfortunately lacked AG spark of genius), and now hes back but we lost Justin(...wtf?) The question now is will they find someone as talented with the right chemistry that the FANS want to hear.

We can only hope...
Maybe Justin will end up back in the band just like Anthony did?
If not, it would be great(like you said) if they find someone as talented and with the right chemistry that we the FANS can appreciate and enjoy listening to.

Illusions & Control is definitely my favorite track from the new record. It's intensity, emotion, and technicality are second to no other on this LP. Overall, the record as a whole, I give it an A-. Solid writing and solid production. A brave opus about fighting past ghosts and coexisting with demons on a daily basis. A true catharsis for those of us that know all too well the struggle of addiction in its countless forms. If it can impact hundreds of people in a positive way, then it is a success far beyond any weekly sales chart can show.

If I'm remembering correctly, Anthony Green has never had a feature in any band he's ever been with.

+Andrew Cowan and it pretty much is. This song was being performed live while Justin was still in the band way before they even said publicly they were gonna make a new album. Check out live versions of "Riff 9". The songs original conception. It's why this is the best song on the record. This is the only one that has that real, true evolved Saosin sound that you can only get with Shekoski.

+Sgt SkySyndrome to be honest though. after the wait, would have ever met your expectations in the first place? its a great album, nonetheless. in my opinion.

@Justin Elswick I'd like to think so. Some of the songs are too canned. I hate that some of it sounds like circa.

@Sgt SkySyndrome I feel like that's almost impossible to avoid though. Anthony's influence on the band and his voice itself is bound to carry between the two projects. The album is really varied though too. Honestly that's one of my biggest complaints is that the album seems to be all over the place, going in too many directions at once. I agree though that some songs are kinda ehh, but the ones that are great are so worth it to me.

@Justin Elswick influence is one thing, but all the sudden Saosin takes on that style? That's monotonous. Skilled musicians can keep it fresh. Not saying they aren't skilled, but I think the writing was phoned in a bit. Especially after so long apart and a new guitarist you'd think the content would have been something really spectacular. Maybe Shekoski's departure leaves a void in the writing?

+Sgt SkySyndrome I agree with you that some songs sound like Circa Survive, because I loved Them , but I mean Saosin is just expierencing a change , some of the songs are good and some are not but I mean just let them be , I mean they tried to make a great album and I really liked it . I never really jammed to the old saosin other than to a few songs and well it is a big change , but I mean we just gotta cope with the change .
