Santana - Who's That Lady Lyrics
Who's that lady......(who's that lady)
Beautiful lady........(who's that lady)
Lovely lady...........( who's that lady)
Real fine lady
'Cause that's all that I can do
Your eyes tell me to pursue
But you say look, yea, but don't touch baby!
No, no, no don't touch
Who's that lady......(who's that lady)
Sexy lady.............(who's that lady)
Beautiful lady........(who's that lady)
Real fine lady
Any gifts she'd want I'd bring
I would giver her anything
If she would just do what I say
Come 'round my way baby
Shine my way
Who's that lady
Beautiful lady
Lovely lady
Real real fine lady
I would love to take her home
But her heart is made of stone
But I'll keep on keepin' on
If I don't she'll do me wrong
Do me wrong
[Background:]
Look yeah, but don't touch
Just do what I say
Don't, she'll do me wrong

Santana Who's That Lady Comments
FOR ALL YOU UN EDUCATED ONES . .THIS IS NOT I REPEAT NOT I REPEAT NOT A REMAKE OF ERNIE'S "WHOS THAT LADY" ITS A REMAKE OF AN OLDER , EARLY 60'S VERSION WHICH ERNIE HIMSELF RE ARRANGED TO GIVE YOU DUMBASSES THE SONG YOU KNOW ! ! !
CARLOS WAS RE MAKING THAT ORIGINAL VERSION NOT ERNIES VERSION I RE PEAT NOT ERNIES VERSION ! ONE MORE TIME FOR THE DUMMIES WHO CAN'T READ THIS IS A RE MAKE OF THE EARLIER "WHOS THAT LADY" THAT ACTUALLY PRE DATES ERNIE'S VERSION ! IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT PRE DATES MEANS LOOK YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR AND SLAP YO SELF AND YO BABY MAMA
This sucks.
I just read this is a 1970's cover of a 1964 version of "who's that lady". The great Isley brothers rearranged their own song after hearing Santana's version, and then retitled it.
Not accurate. This is from the "Spirits Dancing in the Flesh" album, recorded in 1990. The Isley's 2nd version from 1973,. 4-4-17
this even sound like santana!
this is really bad
I like Ernie Isley's version better
Isley is best in my opinion
msrubie11 is well not very versed
@ marcus Vee, You must be in another sphere in time. The time zone where Carlos think he can replicate Ernie Isley. He couldn't replicate Erinie on his best day. He sounds like amature hour. Use to like this guy until I found out he is a racist. But even if that wasn't the case, Ive enjoyed his work in the past. Ernie Isley is the closet thing to the greatest. Jimmi Hendrix. Carlos is a wanna be!
Mmmmm....not a great song but Carlos is a guitar God.
Not a very good cover, and surely not in the league with most of Santana's work. To suggest that Ernie Isley is better than Santana is pure foolishness though. I like Isley's Who's that Lady, which is some of his best work. My favorite of his is Rising from the Ashes. Compare Isley's best with Santana's best. All of Ernie's solos are real heavy on distortion and saturation, the sign of someone who is dependent on that. Of course it would be best to ignore anyone that is ignorant enough to say that Santana is a wanna be.
I just listened to Isley Bros 3 + 3 album. Aside from this song it is a pretty average album. Not a guitar album by any means. None of theirs were. Not a single comparison should be made between Ernie Isley and Santana/Jimi Hendrix et al
Yep, awful. So 80s. (Yes, I know, it was released in '90).
I'm a big Santana fan but I have to agree with you on this one.
Go listen to the original. Go ahead, I'll give you 5 minutes……okay, now convince me this isn't awful.
This is just another artists interpretation; that's what artists do. Your version may be different, from either versions, but it's and honor and credit to the Isleys ingenuity. Nice version.
This would make Ernie vomit. Don't put Santana & Ernie Isley in the same sentence please.
Ernie never had more that one good guitar song per Isley Bros album. You are right. They should not be compared.
@mysterybat35 I honestly agree hell isley bros Summer Breeze brought it to,another level
@carysatch & that is perfectly fine "IF" you make the cover at least better or on par with the original. This is neither! don't get me wrong Carlos influences my guitar playing as well as Ernie Isley but I've got to call it like I hear it. At least when the Isley Bros covered Seals and Crofts' Summer Breeze they made it sound better than the original. The song "hey Joe" has been passed so much its not funny. But when Hendrix covered it he made it his own. Luv ya Carlos but this cover sucks ass.
What a disappointment!
sorry, but this is a dreadful cover
@carysatch - Not about hating here. This is a garden variety, pot boiler production; just something to fill in on an album. Not hating at all. Scrutinizing, rather. If you think this is a solid production of a classic song, you are sadly mistaken. Carlos himself probably doesn't even listen to this.
@Brilliantbeing Exactly right, the arrangement, It's waaaay off although nowhere as bad as PLACEBO doing the cover for KATE BUSH's "Running up that Hill."
nobody does this better than the original isley brothers. I even think carlos agrees.
The problem is the arrangement and the band. It's not Carlos fault on this one. The production is whack, not Carlos.
just awful...
@mythofheaven I think there me be some truth to what you say but don't you think given the legendary status of Carlos Santana he would be smart enough to get permission from the artists to cover the song in the first place. The Isley Brothers have let tons of people sample their music and cover it but Ron, Ernie letting Carlos do Who's That Lady was a terrible mistake. I love Carlos better when he plays his own stuff
great cover ,compliments to one another ,isley bros. santana. the world would be empty without these artist.
Oh man that was terrible.
He ruined this song!!
Carlos is one of my influences other than Ernie Isley but this cover sucks..sorry man
