[Setting: A restaurant with music playing in the background]
"And now the Excited Southerner proposes to a girl."

Sandler, Adam The Excited Southerner Proposes To A Woman Comments

When I heard Adam Sandler’s “Chanukah Song” I went out and bought the CD because I genuinely enjoyed it.  Imagine my disappointment when I heard the various “Excited Southerner” songs.

I found them (there are a few on the CD) to be racist and in very poor taste.   And Adam Sandler never caught ANY grief in the media or the news for such awful stuff.  So I guess it’s okay to trash people from the South if you’re urban and Jewish.  Look at what happened to Paula Dean, whose only mistake was being honest and naive.

As a Southerner who lives out here in “Yankee Land” I am constantly reminded of the prejudices that non-Southerners have about those of us who had no choice about where we were born or grew up.  Somehow I had expected better of Californians.

When my brother lived in San Francisco, he stopped telling people where he was from, he experienced such RAMPANT (and often abusive) prejudice.

I hope that some day Adam can offer an apology to people from the South for this awful drivel.  He probably owes Black people an apology too.

Nice copy and paste. Get over it

Here, Sandler is mocking a Southern black man. So unless you're black, why would you be offended?

Shut up, ya ignorant southern racist. XD
