San Fermin - Daedalus (What We Have) Lyrics
I saw it all
Happened on the golden sheets
In the morning
You were asleep
Hazy in your golden days
There was a child
Moving on her mother's breast
Breathing only
Dust in the light
But you know it's awfully hard
To dream
I was a knight
In my mother's arms
Black as mourning
Glowing so my sister
Could see
I felt it all
But you know it's awfully hard
To talk about it
Try to recall
The girls when I was seventeen-
A dream
Know this can't be right
But it's awfully hard to fight
When it's going quickly and it's like
We're half asleep
There's no rosy almost days behind
These painted lady eyes
Let it go and all that they imply
Get over me
I was afraid
When I left my home
And my mother
Sadness, my friend
She used to play for me
And sing
Know this can't be right
But it's awfully hard to fight
When it's going quickly and it's like
We're half asleep
There's no rosy almost days behind
These painted lady eyes
Let it go and all that they imply
Get over me
It's hard to talk about
When inside you're freaking out
When it's going quickly and you doubt
You're anything
But it's what we have instead of God
What we have instead of God
What we have instead of God
We're anything
But it's what we have instead of God
What we have instead of God
What we have instead of God
We're anything
What we have instead of God
Like the moment after love
When we know we finally kill the buzz
So we can sleep
And we can finally let it lie
While the days keep passing by
Carried on the little deaths we die
Then we can sleep
Where have you been?
Wish I could talk to you
I've been dreaming
I don't wanna die
Lying on the palest sheets
In the morning
I felt it all
But you know it's awfully hard
I don't wanna die
Lying in my mother's bed
In the morning

LYRICS:
Verse 1]
I saw it all
Happened on the golden sheets
In the morning
You were asleep
Hazy in your golden days
There was a child
Moving on her mother's breast
Breathing only
Dust in the light
But you know it's awfully hard
To dream
I was a knight
In my mother's arms
Black as mourning
Wearing the lights
Glowing so my sister
Could see
I felt it all
But you know it's awfully hard
To talk about it
Try to recall
The girls when I was seventeen--
A dream
[Chorus]
Know this can't be right
But it's awfully hard to fight
When it's going quickly and it's like
We're half asleep
There's no rosy almost days behind
These painted lady eyes
Let it go and all that they imply
Get over me
[Verse 2]
I was afraid
When I left my home
And my mother
Sadness, my friend
She used to play for me
And sing
[Chorus]
[Outro]
It's hard to talk about
When inside you're freaking out
When it's going quickly and you doubt

But it's what we have instead of God
What we have instead of God
What we have instead of God
We're anything
But it's what we have instead of God

So we can sleep
And we can finally let it lie
While the days keep passing by
Carried on the little deaths we die
Then we can sleep
Where have you been?
Wish I could talk to you
I’ve been dreaming
I don't wanna die
Lying on the palest sheets
In the morning
I felt it all
But you know it's awfully hard
I don't wanna die
Lying in my mother's bed

Thank you.
I'm humored by the fact that people actually call artists wanna-be's of other artists. Because, of course, artists are to be, in every way, different from one another and any inkling of them sounding like another is blasphemous in the name of music.
I swear. I mean, if you look deep enough, you can find that an artists sounds like twenty other artists. That's utterly beside the point. Perhaps they sound better in this style of music rather than another, perhaps they find it more comfortable or prefer more than what they could do. Honestly, why do we care? Why do you find it necessary to compare them when all you should really do is listen to the damn music because the music...
The music is all that matters.
Loving this!

I just saw the title, and automatically thought of "Battle of the Labyrinth" by Rick Riordan. Pretty good song(:
good discovery for me,up down left right around
But that's a difference in taste more than what's actually there. I can certainly agree that San Fermin tends to have more focused, pop-oriented tracks, but the sound is EXTREMELY reminiscent of Stevens' music, nonetheless.
difference is Stevens has never caught my attention like San Fermin has, not to discourage Stevens's music but you can't just say its the same exact music
This is really good, but so heavily influenced by Stevens that it's impossible not to feel as though it is derivative. This may as well be Stevens' band backing a Matt Berninger wannabe.
ohhh my god WHAT have i stumbled upon!! :D
wow sorry about your gear but for that I would not know about the next music I buy yours
