When I was growing up in the 70s,we listened even then to music from the 50s and 60s and no one thought that it was too old.
Now,a singer barely gets 20 years on the charts and they are gone like yesterday's cool breeze.

Oh it started going to crap years before that. It was already starting to slowly take on a different tone and sound in the late 90s. I very abruptly one day stopped listening to contemporary country and one day in very late 2013 and haven't listened since. It took me until then to really understand what it had become and basically every song that was being put out there and played were all the same thing. Partying and doing stupid pretty-boy stuff and guys getting every good looking girl in their quarters and having their way with them. Yeah country may have always had songs about drinking and cheating and boys being rowdy but it had all been within the context of real life stories and they all had a story to tell in them and it wasn't mixed with all of this hip-hop and girl-boning stuff that's always existed in the rap world. But it's mostly been about blue collar American living and hard work and family and God,which is a real rarity in country these days.

Sammy is an amazing musician..still love listening to his music!! :)

When this song came out i was working 60+ hours in 5 days. My hubby sang this to me alot back then. Listening to it at work kept the wheels rollin on my truck, knowing i would once be headed home again Loved it then and still brings a smile when I think of it!! Thanks Sammy!

I wish we would get some new great music from Sammy. He was one of the best from the 1990s, along with people like Travis Tritt, Joe Diffie, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, etc. He has not had a hit in a long time. I don't know if he has given up on making music or not.
