Sambora, Richie - Burn That Candle Down Lyrics

Hard time living here is out of clear
Times and reasons where you never had
Ain't no shame in starting up right now
Smoke confuses burn that candle down

Stupefy and keep flavor fading out
Then burn that candle down
I saw the night moon rising, and not exactly how
Then burn that candle down

Mister hailing I will slap your wrist
Here's that chance to check me out your list
There's no time for thinking twice right now
Smoke confuses burn that candle down

Stupefy and keep flavor fading out
Then burn that candle down
I saw the night moon rising, and not exactly how
Then burn that candle down

Sambora, Richie Burn That Candle Down Comments
  1. Rosario Verano

    wow that was good

  2. Joe Lynn

To be honest Aftermath Of The Lowdown pisses over any Bon Jovi output since Have A Nice Day. More power to you Richie!

+Joseph Lynn I thought These Days was their last piece of great work.

    Ed Collins

+Joseph Lynn  I totally agree.  I'm sure that having to play all of Jon's "New Country" music for years and years had a lot to do with Richie's substance abuse issues.  Although I used to be a fan, I haven't liked Jon Bon Jovi since the 80's.  If it weren't for his cousin (producer Tony Bongiovi) and the fact that he had a great band, I don't think Jon would have ever gotten a recording contract.  I will give Jon credit for staying with the band that helped him make it to the top. (IMO, the loss of Such in the mid-90's was not that big of a deal).  I really think that was the key to Bon Jovi's (and Jon Bon Jovi's) continued success.  However, it will be interesting to see how well the new Bon Jovi album is received without Sambora.

    Ed Collins

+Kenny P  I loved the first 5 Bon Jovi albums.  In fact, the first 3 were my favorite because they were more about being a band and less about Bon Jovi.  In the 1990's Jon's voice, whether intentional or unintentional, changed for the worse.  I think he wanted to sing and sound more like Bruce Springsteen.  In the 2000's, his music became synonymous with "New Country" and he even started writing songs with various country artists.

@Ed Collins Yeah - their fun high energetic rock from the 1980s is an epic body of work (consistently good as well) and still sounds good.

    doom and gloom

  4. Dehumanizer Lord

    which new song???

  5. Paco7800

Totally agree about Richie as a great lead guitarist but he has failed to develop a consistent solo career. He has only put out 3 records in 23 years. The first one was blues oriented (his best effort so far), the second was more rolling stones oriented and this last one is filled with ballads and soul vocal harmonies. If this guy wants to be taken seriously as a guitar player he needs to start delivering full out rock records...yes, that means records with tons of guitars and solos. Period.

  6. spoltorebiblico2

why the fourth?!is the FIRST song of the album!!

  7. cornelcaramel

this reminds me of the stones' new song

  8. Sven van der Velde

Hard time living here is out of clear, thousand reasons that you've never heard. aint no shame in starting up right now, spark a fuse and burn that candle down. Stupefy and keep the flavour from fading out, gotta burn that candle down. Saw the night moon rising but not exactly how. something like that

  9. John Thompson

Hearts are beating I hear it loud and clear
Thousand reasons when you’re never here
Ain't no shame in starting up right now
Spark a fuse and burn the candle down

Stoke the fire you’re afraid will fade out
    Gonna burn that candle down
Outside the night moons rising, it must be time to howl
    Gonna burn that candle down

Misfit hey there I won’t slap your wrist
Here's the chance to check me off your list
There's no time for thinking twice right now
Spark a fuse and burn the candle down

Anyone have a clue what he's saying? I was front row at his concert in LA last week (also met him, AMAZING person) and I still had no clue what he said this whole song.

  11. Toni Ahola

This song rocks big time! Richie mixing Hendrix, Kiss, Thin Lizzy. I like that Richie is being real here. This song may convince me to buy this album
