I love this, it's timeless. It never gets old. 2019 I was chatting with singer Matt earlier. I'm still not sure that he realizes the mental healing his music gives me. Not to mention I have a GIANT Lizard on my arm.

Holy shit the drums

This is not hair metal. This is Ambient Hard Rock. Saigon Kick was caught in the middle of the change in everyone's taste in music. It went from fun in the sun lets party Hair Metal into Oh My God my Life Sucks - Nirvana and Pearl Jam. During this transition around 93. Saigon Kick was sitting on a great piece of work that wasn't glam or alternative. Saigon Kick was an Ambient Hard Rock Band they were cleary doing their own thing. I hear Queen, David Bowie, Janes Addiction, Kings X, and I hear a band that got caught up in what amounts to bad timing.

So very true. I wished they would have taken over the spotlight.

Just bad timing for the Kick. Grunge was on the rise to wash out complex guitar solos and harmony (i.e talent). The consolation prize was "Love is one the way". To which this band had WAY more to offer than a freaking power ballad.

When Saigon Kick first came out I wasn't into them at all. When Saigon Kick second CD came out the lizard that's when I really got into them and I thought they were like the coolest band and they had some great songs on that cd as well. After the lizard CD came out that's when I became the Big C and of Saigon Kick. I did get to see them Live Twice and it was totally amazing show. I wish that Saigon Kick had stayed around a lot longer than they did.

This band is so underrated, and I hate when I ask people about Saigon Kick and they say "oh yeah love is on the way"? I'm like NO, they have a bunch of heavy songs that are melodic and have awesome vocal melodies just like this song. Love this shit. So fucking good!!!

i see every show that comes to my area,I wish they would re release their old stuff.I bet it would garner even more attention now than in early 90s because they got lumped in with the hair band era,which hurt them because they were not of the same cloth.the alternative scene would prob welcome them.Love em.

@john gouger yeah they definitely got lumped in with that hair bullshit. These guys were way better than those bands. But just cause their songs aren't all 3 minute pop ballads they got fucked over.

Strange, but this mid-tempo track reminds me a lot of an Austrian Prog-metal band called ''Mayfair" (I dare to say that Mayfair are even more crazy than Saigon)

St. Louis..Mississippi Nights...1990 opening for RATT...bought tickets for RATT Detonator Tour...could care less for the opening act...holy shit were we wrong!!!!   This song opened up with strobe lights.  It was all over after that...that is when my best friend and I had become an SK fan and saw every show since then.  Saigon Kick greatest band ever!!!!  Jason is the most underrated guitar player ever...Matt's voice is unparrelled

Agreed with Niki, I really like them since their 1st CD came out! My life, What U say, I.C.U and really surprised when I saw them in my country for the concert! First time I've just want to compared with "Hanoi Rock" due to I like their songs!

This is my favorite song off the first album. I totally wore this tape out. I recently picked up this album in MP3 and Lizard too. It's amazing how much better the sound quality is. Love it!

These guys had just as much an affect on the demise of the market superiority of
Glam Rock and the introduction of "Alternative sound" as did Jane's Addiction. This was the only record of theirs I have ever owned and listened to. Always loved the singer. A perfect bridge from "then into the 90's."

Saigon Kick is one of the most under rated bands of the '90s. Their first album was stellar!
