Saga - Intermission Lyrics
See the man
Watch another man
See their lives
Dissolve into one
See the boy in his eyes
[Chorus:]
I fall inside
Reflecting eyes
Dissolve in time
The same man
Doesn't try to understand
How the time
Slipped through his hands
It's so hard to see
Through those failing eyes

boah, i lost my breath
"The sane man doesn't try to understand how the time slips through his hands"
That's a lyric that sticks with you.
Indeed.
still a great album
SUCH a good song.
and one of the best solo of guitar !
quel groupe !! nostalgie, merci Saga
i have had this record since I was 14.. fast forward .. many years later.... it blows my mind that they know who I am .. I will always love this album and these guys. . I have always thought their sound was unique .follow me on Twitter #LegendSciora and WUSB.fm NY
its 2017 , these guys have made music for 40 years. I am thrilled to have met them and can't wait for CTTE 18.. IF YOU HAVE NEVER GOTTEN TO SEE THEM BOOK IT NOW BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE !!!!!!!!!!!!
very remarkable song with such meaning carried that cassette with me for years till i wore it out then i bought the cd. Masterpiece forever in time klc peaceout
The entire arrangement of this beautiful piece just fits together like a put-together puzzle...of a man denying that he's grown old..."It's so hard to see, through those failing eyes."
lo mejor del rock sinfonico ,live ,un paraiso para momentos en las memorias del mundo ,,,,,saga ,brilla con luz propia,,
Beautiful dreamlike game between the guitar and the fabulous keyboards, and Sadler's voice here hand in glove with the instruments. One of my favorite Saga songs, not just from this excellent album. They really deserved far better sales figures than they had, even if they sold enough to have a musical career spanning more than 3 decades...
These superb PPG & Moog sounds and those excellent chorused gtrs...
so far ahead of their time...
great album ♦♦♦♦♦ awesome ballad...♥
This song is about, a man dying/reflecting. I write lyrics a lot. Time is a gift, think about it.
This song is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.
Sitting and enjoy this guitar solos with a very strong marlboro in your hand. 🇧🇻
trop bon son
That's definitely another incredible ballad by the band themselves.
+gavinnorth72 I agree!! This is my favorite song from this album. It has a profound message (lyrics) and Michael Sadler's voice is just impeccable!
This song is so haunting and so beautiful it brings tears to my eyes.
For all those checking out Saga, be sure to follow that up with another FANTASTIC Canadian prog band, the great FM.
Black Noise, Surveillance, Direct to Disc and City of Fear have all finally be re-mastered and re-released through Esoteric Recordings.
This is 2014 and counting AND this wonderfull track STILL STANDS as EPIC.
Canadian bands like SAGA and RUSH are in a League of their own...
Bravo
Epic is the keyword here. This song has a deep melancholy running through it. For me its like losing a girlfriend who you loved so much it almost killed you when you separated
saga get props but it is a stretch to mention them in the same sentence as rush
Such a quick squeak into reality with this song..
i bought this record today
Saga and the fixx great rock from the eighties. Everybody get on.........
I hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have. So many fine details to pick out with each successive listen.
Best of 80s and beyond
Makes me long for the 80s even more.
This entire album was outstanding. Every song had its own unique sound and feel to it. Not many albums could do that.
Stunning! This masterpiece just sweeps me away! Makes me long for days gone by.
this song is incredible....
Yeah I almost had an out of body experience and the sounds and lights only complimented these musical geniuses,I had heard they borrowed part of Genesis's rig. These guys should have been way more succcesfull BUT like so many flaky Canadians who listen to music, they rarely support their own sad really!
bet that was pretty sick...this song in a good pair of headphones and a couple or rips sit back chill...your ears will be forever grateful....))
Total buzz of a tune saw them do this live at Maple Leaf Gardens in mid 80's amazing live too!
We have no intelligence -i repeat : We have no intelligence.
The guitar work on this album is simply stunning. Ian Crichton is the guitar god nobody knows.
Grew up in Copenhagen in the 70's and 80's with bands like Saga, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Supertramp, depeche mode etc... Magical time... Big shift in music from traditional rock and roll towards synthetic sounds. At first pretty weird ...but after a few live concerts you kinda knew that music had changed forever...
very well said!

@n8tureboy ~ This song sends me into a Mesmerizing, Euphoric Trance ~ especially when wearing headphones ~ as suggested by a good friend ~ Thanks N8!!
@n8tureboy ~ I agree with you ~ Saga has some mesmerizing songs!!
@intuantu Agree totally.
@adam872 Same here, in regards to Winger. But isn't Ian amazing? Two songs off of "Full Circle" also have super soulful guitar - "Don't Say Goodbye" and "Goodbye".
@intuantu Now that you mention it, I have heard that track and yes the similarities are there. Never was a big Winger fan, but I do like that song and that solo.
@adam872 Reb was the guitarist for Winger. Check out the end of the Winger video "Headed for a Heartbreak" to see what I mean. I don't think he directly rips off Ian, but the approach is similar. However, I remember reading an article where he says for Winger's second album, he came up with a whammy technique that sounds like dying seagulls. Hmm! I may have to buy that album to hear what he's talking about, because that's exactly how I'd describe the sounds Ian makes in the start of this solo!
@intuantu While I'm not really too familiar with Reb Beach's playing, I do like this solo a lot. Very sparse, but melodic and soulful.
@openskycreative I hear a faint echo of "Losing It" from Signals on this track as well, but I think you are right to point out the similarities.
As an aside, this track sounds like it has what was then state of the art PPG Wave keyboards all over it, a synth that Rush was also to use when GuP came round.
Julie Cat given to Mads Discovered she was mother to Ever Suns(Ryesgade 106A) when she was raised to born Everdarkness 2001.
I've long suspected that Reb Beach's solo in Headed for a Heartbreak was inspired by this.
Agreed.
Musica immortale! Brividi... Grazie Gordon.
This was the end of side one. Great way to end it!
Then you flipped it over to get blown away by the opening of SOCIAL ORPHAN.
I love how that track kicks in!!!
Yes, it makes me think of Satriani, but he came later.
Many people see Saga as "like Rush" or "Rush-inspired", but to me this track is a precursor to Rush's "Mystic Rhythms" and the "Power Windows" sound that would come 2 years after this.
Saga seems more of an influence on Rush at this point.
god its like im transported back to my childhood so fast as soon as I hear this stuff!!!
Two thumbs up to Gordon for providing us with all of these great Saga tunes!
If I called this song beautiful I still would not be doing it enough justice. Music like this always leaves me in awe.
